The Master of Marketing is designed to give students the ability to better evaluate existing and potential market opportunities and to develop strategies that achieve organisational outcomes appropriate for the Australian and international business environment. Students will develop a solid understanding of the theoretical underpinnings of marketing and how they are applied in all contexts. The Graduate Certificate and Master of Marketing have been developed for students with little or no background in the discipline or those wishing to upgrade their existing knowledge in the field. There is no assumed knowledge requirement for these programs. The Graduate Certificate and Master of Marketing programs are also available online.

The Master of Information Technology is a broad, flexible and technical information technology Masters degree. The program provides graduates with training and experience (according to personal development needs) by developing expertise in desired fields. The Master of Information Technology (MIT) program is designed to cater to both those who currently work in the industry but have no formal qualification and those with tertiary qualifications in another discipline and little information technology background but who wish to gain a qualification that will allow them to pursue an IT career.

The Business Administration programs are designed to provide students with a range of analytic, strategic and leadership skills which will prepare them for increasingly competitive careers in business management in the corporate and public sectors. These programs offers a grounding in fundamental business areas such as accounting, finance, organisational behaviour, economics, marketing and management. Analytic and problem solving skills are emphasised through an applied understanding of the theoretical framework within which today's managers must operate, as well as the acquisition of practical skills in teamwork, writing, presentation and time-management. The ability to cope with rapid organisational and technological change is developed through and understanding of organisational behaviour, information systems and organisational change and development.

The Master of Aviation Management provides flexible delivery for distance learning in the areas of aviation human factors and management. It has been developed in response to a recognised need in the aviation industry. The program combines topics from aviation human factors and management and can be adapted to accommodate specific areas of interest of students from diverse backgrounds. Applications are encouraged from all areas of the industry, especially flight crew, cabin crew, maintenance crew, ground crew, administration, military and government authorities.

The Master of Teaching (Secondary) program at the University of Newcastle provides a postgraduate pathway into a highly successful and rewarding career in teaching. The program aims to develop graduates who are outstanding teachers who act professionally, ethically and effectively in their professional contexts; who engage in critical enquiry into their practice and the contexts of their practice; and who play a constructive leadership role in public discourse in and beyond education. Graduates of the program will be eligible to seek employment as teachers of students in Years 7 to 12 in a wide range of national and international contexts, including in NSW Government, Catholic and Independent school sectors.

The Master of Teaching (Primary) Program at the University of Newcastle provides a postgraduate pathway into a highly successful and rewarding career in teaching. The program aims to develop graduates who are outstanding teachers who act professionally, ethically and effectively in their professional contexts; who engage in critical enquiry into their practice and the contexts of their practice; and who play a constructive leadership role in public discourse on and beyond education. Graduates of this program will be eligible to seek employment as teachers of students from Kindergarten (Reception) to Year 6 in a wide range of national and international contexts, including in New South Wales Government, Catholic, and Independent school sectors.

The Master of Nursing (Advanced Practice) is intended for registered nurses who wish to prepare themselves at an advanced level for leadership in clinical nursing practice and education.The focus is on clinical practice and the program allows for specialisation in selected areas of nursing, and in-depth study of a selected topic relevant to nursing practice. In particular, the program is designed for registered nurses who wish to practice at an advanced clinical level as clinical nurse specialists, clinical nurse consultants, or clinical nurse educators.The program requires completion of 80 units and consists of Core, Directed Specialisation Courses. The program has a clinical practice focus and allows for specialisation in selected areas of nursing. Streams and areas of specialisation are available in Older Person Nursing, and Child, Youth and Family Nursing. Students must complete the courses approved for each specialisation to ensure specialisation acknowledgement.A number of the courses listed are offered in partnership with Hunter New England Local Health District (including Mental Health and the Centre for Education and Nursing Research in Child Health [CENRiCH]).

The Master of Applied Linguistics program is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills to understand the processes of language learning and development, to develop theoretically motivated language teaching curricula, and to improve their effectiveness as teachers of English as a second or foreign language, or more generally to further their understanding of the way in which language affects and is affected by the social and cultural environment. The program combines theoretical perspectives with empirical studies and practical applications, and provides the opportunity for practical experience of classroom and individual teaching.The NSW Department of Education and Training will recognise graduates of the award, where they have a teaching degree and have been registered as teachers with the NSW Institute of Teachers.

The online program is organised into trimesters to allow busy midwives who have multiple roles and competing responsibilities to study at times suitable to them.

Statistics is one of the essential requirements for high quality medical research, and is vital to public health research. This program is designed to provide in depth knowledge in the application of statistical methods to the analysis of health related data. Graduates will develop a strong capacity to work effectively as integral members of a collaborative team to investigate problems in health and medicine.
