The program is designed for those motivated by a desire to improve their environment and/or move into a more exciting and challenging career.The program has two main fields of study: environment and planning. You may choose to specialise in one or both fields:The planning field of study examines new statutory planning techniques, planning and environmental law, strategic planning, sustainable city planning, planning history and theory, public policy development, rural and regional planning, and current planning issues.The environment field of study examines natural resource policy and management, the concept of sustainability, globalisation, environmental policy at international, national, state and local levels, environmental management in industry, environmental effects statements, energy management, parks policy and management, water policy, and business-related environmental issues.

These include early learning centres in schools, kindergartens, childcare centres, industry and government sectors. It prepares you for the dynamic and challenging world of education. It provides you with globally transferable skills and a qualification as a professional teacher in Australia and overseas.You will experience a variety of contemporary, interactive learning and teaching approaches, including both face to face and online delivery modes. An individually negotiated professional experience project will enable you to synthesise and integrate your knowledge, as well as connect theory and practice. You will have the opportunity to participate in a range of innovative Professional Experience practices in a variety of educational settings that integrate theory and practice. All Students need to enrol in the Master of Laboratory Medicine.The Graduate Diploma in Laboratory Medicine (exit-only program) provides advanced training and education in one of the major disciplines of laboratory medicine. It is offered for graduates from general science/biomedical science degrees that have a biological science focus and limited or no experience in diagnostic laboratory disciplines.The program is delivered in face to face mode and requires on campus attendance.It is designed for graduates of general science or biomedical science degree programs who are interested in a career in diagnostic pathology or medical research but who lack experience, or have only limited experience, in the diagnostic laboratory disciplines.A capstone experience in this program is MEDS2154 Advanced Laboratory Medicine. This experience will consolidate and expand the knowledge gained throughout the program.

Graduate Diploma in Biotechnology

Graduate Diploma in Journalism

The Graduate Diploma in Journalism is an intensive learning program that offers a blend of practical and reflective elements designed to give you a professionally well-rounded preparation for the competitive multi- media journalism industry.The program’s overall objective is for you to develop the practical, intellectual and analytical skills necessary to work in any field of journalism. While you are acquiring vocational skills, including researching, gathering and producing / presenting news for all platforms, you will also learn how to contextualise your practice in relation to the role of journalism and journalists in society and to analyse media environments. You will also learn to apply the ethics and regulations that guide the profession, from deadline-driven decision making to the ethical challenges of research-based projects.Learning activities and experiences in this program include field trips to media outlets and organisations such as courts, and you will undertake at least one work placement. You will learn the skills of news gathering, writing and reporting for all platforms and be involved in radio and television news broadcasts. All courses in this program are delivered face to face so require on-campus attendance.In your final semester, your capstone experience will be an internship where you will gain practical experience in a professional newsroom or workplace.
