Bachelor of Chemical Engineering (Honours) / Bachelor of Science (pre 2019)

The Bachelor of Chemical Engineering (Honours)/ Bachelor of Science combined degree program is offered by the Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment and the Faculty of Science and Information Technology. This program provides students with the opportunity to undertake concurrent study in Chemical Engineering and Science (with a major) and complete two awards. In general, a combined degree program offers greater breadth of learning, enhancing the academic and professional qualities gained in each separate degree. At the same time it recognises the increasing need for students to graduate with multidisciplinary skills.Students should note that the Chemistry and Earth Sciences majors are the only Bachelor of Science majors currently available in this combined program.

Bachelor of Mechatronics Engineering (Honours) / Bachelor of Science (pre 2019)

This may also include the design, automation and operational performance of electro-mechanical systems.Combined with an Engineering degree, a Science degree opens up a diverse range of employment opportunities in private industry and government organisations in cutting edge areas such as nanotechnology, telecommunications, fibre-optics, laser technology, medical physics, organic electronics and photovoltaics. This combined degree opens up these and many other future frontier of technological breakthroughs to students.Students should note that the Physics major is currently the only Bachelor of Science major available in this combined program.

Bachelor of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (Honours) / Bachelor of Science (pre 2019)

Electrical and electronic engineering is a professional career that utilises mathematics, science, technology and problem solving skills to design, construct and maintain the products and services that underpin modern society. Electrical and electronic engineering is the major area of expertise behind control and automation, telecommunications and networking, signal processing, analogue, digital and computer electronics and power generation, distribution and utilization. It is also vital in new and emerging fields such as nanotechnology, robotics, renewable energy and the Internet of Things.Combined with an Engineering degree, a Science degree (with a major) opens up a diverse range of employment opportunities in private industry and government organisations. Students can pursue a career in cutting edge areas like nanotechnology, telecommunications, fibre-optics, laser technology, medical physics, organic electronics and photovoltaics areas that are closely connected with Electrical and Electronic Engineering. In particular, these are the areas that will constitute many of the future frontiers of electrical/electronic technology which this combined degree will open up to students.Students should note that the Physics and Photonics majors are currently the only Bachelor of Science majors available in this combined program.

Bachelor of Music / Bachelor of Arts (pre 2018)

This combined degree program provides the opportunity for study in both music and arts. Students complete two degree awards over four years of full time study (or part time equivalent).The flexibility of this combined degree allows students to pursue those areas that present the best challenges, the most interest and the greatest enjoyment while studying. Students will have the opportunity to acquire the skills of analysis, research and logic: the skills which form the basis for any successful career as well as acquiring specialised skills in music and preparing students for performance to a professional standard.

Bachelor of Creative Industries

A Bachelor of Creative Industries degree provides students with the opportunity to shape their work in line with socio-cultural environments and cutting-edge innovations. The program offers students the choice to specialise in a chosen field of individual creative interest in the areas of Communication and Media, Creative and Performing Arts, Design, Information Technology, Music, Visual Art-Imaging Technologies, Visual Art-Studio Practices, and Writing and Publishing. These specialisations are built around a core of critical courses rich in entrepreneurial activity, business skills, digital literacies and social innovation. Students are encouraged to develop professional networks and work with a range of stakeholders and audiences. By the end of the program students will have attained sought-after skills for future employment and entrepreneurial capacity.

Bachelor of Commerce / Bachelor of Laws (Honours)

Within the combined degree program, students study a combination of Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws (Honours) courses over a period of five years full-time. On completion of the first three years students will have completed all the courses required for the Bachelor of Commerce degree. In the final two years of the combined degree program students complete the requirements for the Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and may enrol in these two years on a less than full time basis.Students completing this combined degree program become specialists in Commerce and meet the academic requirements to practice law in NSW. However, students wishing to practice law must also complete postgraduate professional training approved by the Legal Profession Admission Board. Alternatively, students completing this degree may apply for entry to the Bachelor of Laws (Honours)/Diploma of Legal Practice Program - see separate handbook entry - which allows immediate admission to legal practice on graduation.Commencement in this program is only available in Semester 1. Due to timetabling issues this program is not available for a Semester 2 commencement.
