Bachelor of Fine Art (Honours)

Students who perform well, with a GPA of 5.0 or greater, during the Bachelor of Fine Art degree may undertake a further year of full time (or equivalent part time) study to obtain an Honours degree. The Honours degree allows students to further develop their specific areas of interest.On the Callaghan Campus, Honours level courses are available in: 2-D Art (Painting/Drawing, Printmaking); 3-D Art (Ceramics, Fibres/Textiles, Sculpture); Photomedia; or Art History/Theory. The program offers high quality facilities in all studio areas including a metal casting foundry, paper making mill and the only facility in any institution in Australia that manufactures paints, pastels and watercolours on campus.

No new applications for admission will be accepted.The Fine Art program has been designed to respond to changing community and educational needs and to the exciting multidisciplinary trends of contemporary art. The broad range of courses on offer provide great scope for students to specialise or diversify. The art history/theory courses introduce students to current fine art theory and research methods. In the studio program, students experience 2D Art (including drawing, painting and printmaking); 3D Art (including ceramics, fibres/textiles, and sculpture) and photomedia (traditional and digital). The program offers high quality facilities in all studio areas including a metal casting foundry, paper making mill and the only facility in any institution in Australia that manufactures paints, pastels and watercolours on campus.

Bachelor of Business / Bachelor of Commerce (pre 2016)

There will be no intake into this program from 2016. Please see the new Bachelor of Business/Bachelor of Commerce (Program No 40035) if you wish to study this program.This combined degree program provides students with the opportunity to increase the depth and breadth of their study in relevant disciplines within Business and Commerce whilst completing two awards over four years of full-time study or part-time equivalent.A combined degree program enhances the academic and professional qualities gained in each separate degree. At the same time, it recognises the increasing need for students to graduate with multidisciplinary skills.

Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science (Nuclear Medicine) (pre 2016)

This program is for continuing students only and from 2016 is replaced by the Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science (Honours) (Nuclear Medicine) (40011).Nuclear Medicine uses a mix of sophisticated medical imaging technology such as scintigraphy, SPECT, hybrid PET/CT, people skills and radioactive chemical compounds (radiopharmaceuticals) to image and/or treat a wide variety of injuries or diseases ranging from elite athletes with sports injuries, to cardiac and brain studies, to cancer patients.

Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Honours)

Students who achieve a superior level of performance in the Bachelor of Biomedical Science at this university or any other degree approved by the Faculty Board will be able to undertake the Honours program which is of one year's duration when undertaken full-time. This program is for continuing students only and from 2017 is replaced by the Bachelor of Biomedical Science (40097).Graduates are trained in basic knowledge of the structure and function of living organisms with particular focus on the human. Using this knowledge, together with problem solving skills, critical reasoning and scientific methods taught in the program, the graduate is well prepared to collaborate on scientific investigations of human structure and function in health and disease at a molecular, cellular and whole systems level.

Bachelor of Nursing (Honours)

The Honours degree is designed to develop students' knowledge and skill in research and theory development, and involves a research project in a selected field of nursing. It is intended for registered nurses who wish to prepare themselves for higher degree studies and for leadership in nursing practice, research and education.

The Bachelor of Laws/Diploma of Legal Practice (Practice Program) is offered by the Faculty of Business and Law. Information on the Bachelor of Laws programs is included here to provide background context for this program.The Bachelor of Laws degree is offered as a three year full-time graduate program or as a five year full-time program offered in combination with other degree programs: Bachelor of Aboriginal Professional Practice, Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Business, Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Communication, Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Social Science. The Bachelor of Laws degree meets the academic requirements needed to gain admission to the practice of law in New South Wales.During the first three years, combined degree students enrol in the courses offered by the Faculty of Business and Law as part of the LLB program, as well as courses within other Faculties to complete one of the seven degrees taken in combination with the LLB. During the final two years they enrol in LAWS courses only. For information about the non-Law degrees and patterns of study for the combined degrees, refer to the relevant program entries.Students who already hold a Bachelor's degree undertake the graduate LLB program over three years of full-time study.Students may undertake the Bachelor of Laws/Diploma of Legal Practice in the final two years of their Law studies.
