A Bachelor of Arts degree enables you to study what you are passionate about in life, and convert this learning into a career. You have the flexibility to choose from a broad range of majors and minors, and to tailor the program to match your specific interests.Within the Bachelor of Arts program we currently offer 15 majors and 16 minors. Some majors/minors are offered predominantly at one campus and others are offered at both the Callaghan and Ourimbah campus. The availability of courses within the below listed major/minor is subject to change. Online delivery is also available for some courses within majors/minors. Bachelor of Medicine (Joint Medical Program) (pre 2017)

Medicine is an intellectually rigorous program leading to a challenging and demanding professional life. Whether you choose to work in general practice or to specialise, medicine offers personal satisfaction on numerous levels.

Bachelor of Science (pre 2019)

Science is enormously exciting. Think space physics, satellite technology, biotechnology, weather forecasting, climate change, nanotechnology... the list goes on. So much is happening and yet there is still an enormous amount left to discover and explore.The APAC (Australian Psychology Accreditation Council) accredited major sequence is not available to students who commence the program in 2012 or after. A Psychology major is available in the program, however is not accredited for students commencing study in 2012 onwards. Students who commence the program in 2012 or after, and who wish to complete an accredited Psychology program, are advised to apply for admission to the Bachelor of Psychological Science program.

Bachelor of Mathematics / Bachelor of Computer Science

This combined degree program provides students with an opportunity to undertake concurrent study in Mathematics and Computer Science and complete two awards over a period of four years.In general, a combined degree program offers greater breadth of learning, enhancing the academic and professional qualities gained in each separate degree. At the same time, it recognises the increasing need for students to graduate with multidisciplinary skills.Students complete core courses, a major in Data Science, along with a chosen major in Mathematics. For information about Mathematics majors please refer to the program handbook for the Bachelor of Mathematics.

Bachelor of Arts (Honours) (pre 2020)

Students who perform well, with a GPA of 5.0 or greater, during the Bachelor of Arts degree may undertake a further year of full-time (or equivalent part-time) study to obtain an Honours degree. The Honours degree allows students to further develop their specific areas of interest.The Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) approved sequence in Psychology is no longer available in this program. If you have a 3 year APAC accredited psychology qualification please apply for the accredited Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours) program.

Bachelor of Computer Science (pre 2017)

Computer science spans a wide range of areas including complex problem solving, artificial intelligence, robotics and machine learning, embedded systems, computer networks and distributed systems, computer graphics, web applications, bioinformatics and data security. Computer scientists perform challenging programming tasks and supervise other programmers, and devise new ways to use computers and develop effective solutions for computing problems.

Bachelor of Mathematics (Honours)

The Bachelor of Mathematics (Honours) is a one year full-time (or equivalent part-time) program that allows students to further develop their specific areas of interest and their research skills. Honours programs are available in Mathematics and Statistics and are considered pathways to enhanced career prospects in business and industry as well as a Research Higher Degree.

Bachelor of Mathematics / Bachelor of Science (pre 2019)

At the same time, it recognises the increasing need for students to graduate with multidisciplinary skills.Within this program, students undertake courses to meet the requirements of both the Bachelor of Mathematics and the Bachelor of Science with a major in a discipline other than Mathematics or Statistics. There is also the opportunity to take electives from other areas according to particular interests.The APAC (Australian Psychology Accreditation Council) accredited major sequence is not available to students who commence the program in 2012 or after. A Psychology major is available in the program, however is not accredited for students commencing study in 2012 onwards. Students who commence the program in 2012 or after, and who wish to complete an accredited Psychology program, are advised to apply for admission to the 4 year Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) program.

Bachelor of Computer Science (Honours)

This additional one year program is normally undertaken by students with an excellent academic record in the Bachelor of Computer Science degree who wish to broaden their knowledge as further preparation for professional practice or to meet the requirements for admission to a research degree.Students enrolled in the program are required to complete a project and directed courses in computer science and software engineering.

Bachelor of Business (pre 2016)

There will be no intake into this program from 2016. Students wishing to study a Bachelor of Business should refer to the new Bachelor of Business (Program No. 40027).The Bachelor of Business is one of the most popular and dynamic degrees offered by the Faculty of Business and Law. It is a three year full-time (or equivalent part-time) program which starts with broad core courses and then progresses to one of the seven major sequences of study offered in the degree: Human Resource Management, Information Systems in Business, International Business, Management, Marketing, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, or Tourism.Elective courses are available in many areas including Business Law, Information Systems, Statistics, Japanese, Philosophy, Finance, Accounting, Leisure and Tourism Studies, Politics and Business Economics.The program has a practical orientation, with students learning from case studies of real business situations.
