Our Bachelor of Philosophy (Honours) course is designed to extend the research capabilities you’ve gained in your undergraduate degree, and prepare you for a variety of high-level careers in areas such as law, public policy, business management, PR, fundraising, media, journalism or academia. During this one-year course, you will study specific topics, including epistemology and ontology, and gain an insight into a variety of research approaches.Across your study period you will have access to professional mentors who will assist you in the preparation of your professional thesis. You will explore valuable universal skills, such as critical thinking, critical reading, listening and reviewing, which will be applicable to your chosen future industry, and will be encouraged to tailor the course content to your own specific areas of interest. Bachelor of Nursing (Honours)

Bachelor of Medical Science

Bachelor of Vision Science

Our course has been developed with academics, practitioners and representatives from international optometry companies and will be launched in the same year UC opens the doors to our state-of-art UC Public Hospital. During your degree you will develop foundation knowledge and skills in the biomedical sciences with a specific focus on optical and vision sciences. You will also broaden your skills in business and management related areas should you choose to explore private practice. On graduating from this undergraduate degree you will be eligible for entry into a Master of Optometry.In your final year you will enrol in the work-integrated unit Integrated Eye Care and Ocular Therapeutics. This unit incorporates a significant component of industry experience and includes clinical and non-clinical placements designed to observe the latest vision science industry projects and optometric practice in progress.The Bachelor of Vision Science is a 3-year program. This course is accredited with the Optometry Council of Australia and New Zealand (OCANZ) until April 2023. Successful completion of both the Bachelor of Vision Science AND the Master of Optometry course at the University of Canberra will allow graduates the chance to apply for registration with the Optometry Board of Australia to practice as an optometrist.

You will begin your readiness for work placement with the completion of your professional certificates for site readiness, included into introductory units on professional and ethical behaviours in the built environment sector during your first year in Introduction to Built Environment Management and Building and Construction Studies 1.This degree is accredited by the Australian Institute of Building (AIB) and meets the qualification requirements to obtain a Class 'A' (unlimited) Builders Licence in the ACT. You will also have the option of potential double majors in accounting and sustainability and pathways into quantity surveying. An Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (AIQS) accreditation requires you to complete certain UC subjects.
