You’ll develop a strong foundation in accounting procedures and practices, as well as valuable skills including critical thinking, problem solving and creativity. You’ll also gain specialist knowledge and skills to perform technical functions in key business disciplines including: economics marketing finance enterprise resource planning systems. You can continue on to the Master of Business (Accounting) in order to gain professional recognition as an accountant. You could also undertake prerequisite research units that lead on to doctoral study.

Graduate Certificate in TESOL

The course is designed for teachers who want to develop their professional practice in Teaching English to Speakers of other Languages (TESOL). You will strengthen your current skills and gain a solid understanding of the principles and approaches to TESOL, including curriculum design and evaluation. Graduates who do not have teaching qualifications will still gain a recognised TESOL qualification. However, in Australia you will be limited to working in TESOL programs where a teaching qualification is not required.

Graduate Certificate in International Community Development

Graduate Certificate in Digital Media

This course specialises in delivering the latest in industry practices and processes. Informed by our course advisory panel industry practitioners from industry and government, our curriculum is flexible and regularly updated. You'll study developments such as 'app' development, search engine optimisation, content strategy and social network analytics. Based in studio facilities at our City campus, timetables are designed for the busy professional. In the second year of study, students undertake a research project (both practical and written components are assessed), with the option to link your research project to an industry problem. This graduate certificate is the first stage of a nested suite of three courses that make up the Master of Digital Media. Successful completion of this course will lead you to admission into our Graduate Diploma in Digital Media. An admission requirement for this course is a Bachelor degree in any discipline.

Graduate Diploma in Counselling

The Graduate Diploma of Counselling will extend your expertise in counselling theory and practice. You will cover: psychological theory counselling interventions and psychological therapies (either for adults, or children and adolescents) an understanding of a range of presenting issues, including depression, anxiety, grief and loss an understanding of the ethics of the ethics of counselling practical skills through industry-based learning and placement. The course is offered part-time over two years and is designed to provide a professional foundation in counselling theory and practice. You can specialise in one of two streams: general child and adolescent. This course is accredited by the Australian Counselling Association (ACA). Please note, this is not a psychology course accredited by the Australian Psychological Society.

Graduate Diploma in International Community Development

Graduate Diploma in Digital Media

Explore the processes and theory behind digital transformation and position yourself as digital media practitioner with the Graduate Certificate in Digital Media. Our curriculum is flexible, regularly updated and informed by our course advisory panel which includes representatives from industry and government. We review developments such as app creation, game production, search engine optimisation, content strategy and social network analytics. The programme is grounded in the practice of user experience design (UX) and students are exposed to industry methodologies such as a 'scrum’. Students exit the course with a portfolio containing examples of industry artefacts (including user journeys and user testing process). It's possible to undertake a work placement or internship within the programme to further develop your industry skills. Based in facilities at our City Flinders campus, timetables are designed for the busy professional. This graduate diploma is the second stage of a nested suite of three courses that make up the Masters of Digital Media. The first stage is a Graduate Certificate in Digital Media. Alternatively, students can enrol directly in the Master of Digital Media course. Completion of one stage gives you credit towards the next. You can choose to exit at the graduate certificate or graduate diploma level. An admission requirement for this course is a Bachelor degree in any discipline. Applicants with a Bachelor degree in the area of Digital Media can receive six months' credit.

Certificate II in Electrotechnology (Pre-vocational)

Aimed at school leavers and those new to the workforce, this practical course will prepare you with foundational electrotechnology skills. You'll also gain an insight into the electrical/electronics industry to help you choose your career path. You'll develop technical skills and knowledge that will ensure you are ready for work in the electrical trade, including: basic electrical theory and workshop practices basic network cabling for extra low voltage (ELV) equipment and devices use of test instruments in the electrotechnology industry wiring and installation provision of basic sustainable energy solutions in domestic premises fabrication, assembling and dismantling utilities industry components working with electrotechnology equipment and use of test instruments workplace safety and first aid. You will graduate with a nationally recognised qualification as well as credits for further training as an apprentice, or trainee in the electrotechnology industry in areas such as: electrical renewable energy air conditioning/refrigeration instrumentation.
