However, when Government guidelines change, on-campus studies will be reintroduced.Non-Graduate entrants should refer to the four year course 63P1 Bachelor of Laws.This on-campus course at Hobart is offered by the Faculty of Law and is available full time (a minimum of 3 years) or part time (a maximum of 7 years) for students who have already completed an undergraduate qualification.Throughout this course, you will develop the values and critical thinking skills necessary to marshal facts, assess and evaluate information for a variety of professional roles.A degree in law is the first step towards entering the legal profession. After graduating from the University, if you wish to practice in Tasmania you are required to undertake a Legal Practice course over six months.Pursue further study and enrich your career with law.

Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science with Clinical Honours in Exercise Physiology

The Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science with Clinical Honours builds on the foundations in the Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science to provide graduates with the knowledge and skills to gain accreditation as Exercise Physiologists with Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA) and is accredited by ESSA at Exercise Physiology level.Accredited Exercise Physiologists (AEPs) are allied health professionals who are trained in the physical and psychological components of health and exercise prescription, and who have specialised knowledge in chronic and complex care. They are skilled in prevention and risk factor modification, providing evidence-based health advice and group education. AEPs have skills in engaging patients in the process of self-managing their health, as well as in community health promotion and can be particularly beneficial to clients for whom regular exercise will be of key preventative or rehabilitative benefit.The AEP matches the immediate aspirations and needs of the client with appropriate exercise interventions. They then develop strategies which promote and assist in these interventions being undertaken regularly for a prolonged period of time. Their range of skills equips them to work in roles ranging from primary practitioner through to population health, and also in workplace health, research, primary prevention, education or in advocacy roles within health. AEPs are eligible to access the MBS through the Enhanced Primary Care initiative. They can register with the Department of Veterans Affairs and are recognised by most private health insurers.

Bachelor of Pharmacy with Honours

(Integrated program) This on-campus honours course is offered at Hobart on a full-time basis. It is designed to be taken by students enrolled in the Bachelor of Pharmacy with Applied Honours (54A) as an overload during Year 4 of the course.While all students in the Bachelor of Pharmacy with Applied Honours graduate with an honours degree, applied honours does not serve as a pre-requisite to a Research Higher Degree program (e.g. PhD).Students who wish to enrol in a PhD in the future should consider the Bachelor of Pharmacy with Honours (54B). In this program, they will design and conduct an individual project under the supervision of a team of experienced researchers. They will submit a research thesis, which is required for entry into a Research Higher Degree program.The Bachelor of Pharmacy with Honours (54B) enhances career opportunities and is the usual prerequisite for further study for a research higher degree (Master of Pharmacy or Doctor of Philosophy). Research Higher Degrees are generally expected for positions in the pharmaceutical industry, academia or government regulatory agencies.Honours consists of a major research project, which is planned and commenced in third year and carried out in fourth year as an overload in the units CSA433 and CSA434 Pharmacy Honours. It is a significant time commitment in addition to standard Bachelor of Pharmacy with Applied Honours (54A) units and will not be suitable for all students with the necessary entry prerequisites. Students are expected to spend considerable time on their research projects outside Semesters 1 and 2 of the academic year.
