This diploma equips you with the skills, knowledge and experience to contribute to the leadership of transformative outdoor environmental experiences in natural settings as a guide and scientific interpreter. You'll participate in fieldwork on Fraser Island and other locations on the Sunshine Coast, learn how to navigate diverse terrain using non-motorised modes of travel, develop an understanding of environmental management objectives, and learn about unique terrestrial and marine ecosystems and the organisms that inhabit them.

The Diploma in Business is designed to allow Study Abroad students to undertake any eight courses (96 units) from those available to Study Abroad students in the School of Business. The Diploma in Business intends to provide students with the opportunity to study from a range of business disciplines, thus providing a wide range of choices for students who wish to study at USC.

The Diploma in Criminology and Justice is offered over eight courses and gives you the option to tailor your studies to suit your interests. Choose from a wide range of courses available to Study Abroad students, including criminal profiling and intelligence, crime prevention, youth justice, restorative justice, international justice and human rights.

The Graduate Certificate in Education is available to applicants who are enrolled through the Federal Government Scheme in the short and focused online course program. This initiative is introduced only for 6 months from May 2020. The short courses will run from July 2020 to December 2020. This initiative provides upskilling opportunities to those who are unemployed as well as pathways into a number of degree programs. Applicants should follow the course structure and rules that are specifically designed for this cohort. Check the course structure and course rules below before enrolling in subjects.The Graduate Certificate in Education is designed for educators seeking a short, flexible degree that can be tailored to their needs and interests. The program suits graduates and professionals who are looking to diversify or change their career direction. The program will also be of interest to graduates seeking a broad base in education and training to underpin career goals in generalist education roles in fields such as staff training and development, or policy and planning. In the 2020 Good Universities Guide, UOW Teacher Education ranked number 1 in Australia for learning resources, and number 1 in NSW for overall quality of educational experience and student support. UOW also received 5-star ratings for learner engagement, skills development, and teaching quality in the study area of Teacher Education.

All educators require an understanding of how people learn, how to implement effective learning experiences, and technologies to support the learning process. They also need a comprehensive knowledge of and respect for diversity amongst learners. This course prepares you for a range of careers in any context where the principles and approaches of teaching and learning can be applied.This degree does not provide a qualification for teaching in Australian primary schools or high schools.

The Graduate Diploma in Mathematical Studies is designed to consolidate and expand the mathematics or statistics knowledge gained in undergraduate studies, and to introduce candidates to mathematical or statistical research. The Graduate Diploma in Mathematical Studies is only open to candidates who commence postgraduate courses in the School of Mathematics and Applied Statistics, who have completed the required subjects of the relevant postgraduate program and who do not wish to continue with that program.
