This qualification reflects the role of graphic designers who have a command of wide-ranging, highly specialised technical, creative and conceptual skills and knowledge in visual communication. These skills allow designers to conceive, negotiate and realise design concepts for complex projects using sophisticated communication, organisational and project management skills. They may take responsibility for the work of others in terms of establishing and monitoring systems to ensure the effective production of work. Graphic designers work in many different commercial and community contexts across both print and digital media. Their work as professional designers may include or have links to areas such as advertising and promotion, art direction, branding, corporate identity, instructional design, packaging, signage and web design.

This program will give you the framework and foundation skills to work in the interactive media industry. The program provides you with the broad base of skills necessary to develop a career within art, design, screen and media. The program provides a creative and supportive environment of artistic and technical investigation, while maintaining active links with graduates and industry. The areas you will study in the Advanced Diploma of Screen and Media (Interactive Media) include:Digital imaging and graphic design 2D and 3D animation design Motion design, compositing and visual effects Interactive, web and games design theory and practice Cinema language theory and practice Concept development and previsualisation Sound DesignOur graduates are multi-skilled and trained to develop both technical and conceptual skills, greatly increasing their employment prospects. Whilst many work for traditional media production companies, others start successful freelance practices through industry networks created during their studies. Graduates enter the industry at various levels, working in roles that utilise skills such as graphic design, 2D and 3D animation design, interactive, web and games design, media/project production, art direction and sound design. Other graduates have built careers in teaching and research.

The objective of this program is to prepare you to use wide-ranging analytical, technical, creative, conceptual and managerial skills in your chosen field in the music and sound production industries. On the completion of this program you will have developed a broad knowledge base along with the ability to specialise in specific areas of the industries. You will be able to work effectively, either independently or as a member of a group. The Advanced Diploma of Music Industry (Sound Production) builds on skills attained through industry experience or formal study and will enable you to develop relevant technical management skills required by a rapidly changing industry.In the Advanced Diploma you will explore areas such as sound for film, television and online / multimedia productions, as well as advanced mixing concepts including surround sound technology. Music recording and mixing principles are applied in advanced mixing concepts and mastering.The program includes the study of project management and production management, which will prepare you, as a member of the industry, to be familiar with stage and event management skills required to manage touring artists or media events. The practical component includes staging and recording a number of live performances. The Business and Marketing courses will include the systems management and promotion for these performances at established professional venues, giving you the skills to undertake this professionally as an individual or a member of a company. As the program year progresses, the focus becomes more practical, and you will be spending more time in the studios, recording and mixing music in stereo and surround, as well as sound for film and television.

The Advanced Diploma of Visual Arts reflects the role of independent professional visual arts practitioners who have a command of wide-ranging, highly specialised technical, creative and conceptual skills and knowledge. These skills allow practitioners to extend and refine their practice to a point where they are able to originate, realise and exhibit a substantial body of resolved work that expresses their individual creative vision. The advanced diploma is a more specialised qualification than the Diploma and signifies skill and knowledge of a greater complexity and a higher level of personal accountability.Visual arts practice at this level is underpinned by a sound grasp of art theory and history and the ability to critically analyse and synthesise information from a range of sources. Discourse and communication around complex ideas are also required. Deepening skills acquired in the Diploma course, graduates of the Advanced Diploma will have the ability to engage in critical discourse and with a range of theoretical concepts and historical perspectives.This program prepares individuals who wish to pursue a career as visual artists or in other creative positions (such as roles in government bodies, museums, galleries and educational and cultural institutions) in the arts. This is achieved by studying practical and theoretical courses (alongside OH&S and business-oriented courses) developed in conjunction with the arts industry.

This qualification reflects accounting job roles in financial services and other industries requiring professional accounting expertise. Individuals in these roles apply theoretical and specialist knowledge and skills in a range of situation and display initiative and judgement in planning activities. They have autonomy in performing complex operations and can be responsible for planning, co-ordinating and evaluating the work of others within broad but well defined parameters. The qualification contributes to, but does not encompass, educational requirements for providing tax agent services.Undertaking this qualification will prepare you for jobs in a range of potential industries. The Advanced Diploma of Community Sector Management qualification provides training for people who currently work or aspire to work in the role of a manager or coordinator in the community services sector.This qualification applies to managers of program areas, projects or delivery of services in the community services industrysector, including managing community houses and volunteer services/programs. They may work in a range of sectors such as housing, children's services, alcohol and other drugs, mental health, community care, disability and aged care.This program will develop your skills as a middle manager or manager in a range of community sector organisations. It will assist you to work independently in a management role that includes reporting to executive management, directors or boards of management.You will develop your skills in a range of management functions requiring the application of knowledge and skills to achieve results in line with the organisation's goals and strategic directions.At this level, you as a worker will have responsibility for planning and monitoring service delivery, recruitment and performance management of other paid or unpaid workers, managing risk and contributing to continuous improvement within the scope of their specific role.This may include management of a specific programs or project, or broader management of a community-based organisation, early childhood education service, not-for-profit organisation or community centre.
