Primary Health Care

The Graduate Certificate in Primary Health Care (specialisations) is an 18-unit program offered by the College of Nursing and Health Sciences on a full fee-paying basis. It is normally completed over two semesters part-time. Full time completion is normally not available. The course articulates with the 36-unit Graduate Diploma of Nursing (specialisations) and the 54-unit Master of Nursing. Sequentially developed topics enable progression through the three awards.The specialisation will be identified on the student’s transcript of academic record and on the parchment presented to the student on completion of the course.Prospective students will apply for one of the following named specialisations:

Palliative Care

The Graduate Certificate in Palliative Care is an 18-unit program requiring one semester of full-time study (or the equivalent part-time). The course is offered by the College of Nursing and Health Sciences. The Graduate Certificate in Palliative Care articulates with the Graduate Diploma in Palliative Care, Graduate Diploma in Palliative Care in Aged Care, Master of Palliative Care and Master of Palliative Care in Aged Care. The sequentially developed topics allow progression through the awards. Students who complete the Graduate Certificate normally receive credit for a maximum of 18 units should they wish to proceed to the Graduate Diploma or Masters in Palliative Care, or the Graduate Diploma or Masters of Palliative Care in Aged Care.

Positive Behaviour Support

The Graduate Certificate in Positive Behaviour Support is an 18-unit program offered by the College of Nursing and Health Sciences. It is normally completed in two semesters part-time.The Graduate Certificate in Positive Behaviour Support articulates with the 72 unit Master of Disability Policy and Practice, and the sequentially developed topics allow progression through the two awards.

Loss, Grief and Trauma Counselling

The Graduate Certificate in Loss, Grief and Trauma Counselling is an 18-unit program offered by the College of Education, Psychology and Social Work in internal and external mode. The course is normally completed in one semester full-time, or part time equivalent.

International Relations

The Graduate Certificate in International Relations is an 18-unit program offered by the College of Business, Government and Law. It articulates with the Graduate Diploma in International Relations and the Australian program of the Master of Arts (International Relations).

Innovation and Enterprise
Flinders University
Not offered in 2020The Graduate Certificate in Innovation and Enterprise requires the completion of 18 units of study. It is offered in intensive mode and can be undertaken in six (6) weeks of full-time study (or the equivalent part time). The course is offered by the New Venture Institute and the College of Business, Government and Law.
