STRP-MCENG v.1 Mechanical Engineering Stream (MAdvEng)
Curtin University
This major/stream is part of a larger course. Information is specific to the major/stream, please refer to the course for more information. There is a growing need for mechanical engineers with advanced technical, professional and research abilities to meet the challenges of a changing world. As a graduate mechanical engineer, this advanced course will build on the knowledge and skills gained in your accredited undergraduate engineering program to further advance technical knowledge in a range of discipline related subjects in addition to gaining professional practice and research skills. This program offers a range of advanced topics to prepare graduates for a career in industry or as a researcher, through the specialist units delivered by leading researchers and development of entrepreneurial attributes in new product development.

STRP-INTRL v.1 International Relations Stream (MIntlBus)
Curtin University
This major/stream is part of a larger course. Information is specific to the major/stream, please refer to the course for more information. The International Relations stream is available in the Master of International Business (MIB). It provides a specialisation which compliments and enhances the employability of MIB graduates already working in or interested in careers in international relations.

STRP-HRIGH v.1 Human Rights Stream (MIntlBus)
Curtin University
This major/stream is part of a larger course. Information is specific to the major/stream, please refer to the course for more information. This stream is designed to promote a critical understanding of the human rights discourse. The stream covers modern human rights institutions and how these work for state and non-state actors. The stream also explores the political, historical and philosophical development of ideas about human rights which underpin current systems. In recognition of the importance of a globalised understanding of human rights, the stream explores ideas about human rights from multi-disciplinary, multicultural and multi-religious perspectives. The stream employs both theoretical and practical learning methods giving students the chance to put their learning into practice and to pursue individual areas of interest more deeply.

STRP-FIVAN v.1 Finance and Investment Analytics Stream
Curtin University
This major/stream is part of a larger course. Information is specific to the major/stream, please refer to the course for more information. The Finance and Investment Stream provides students with an ability to develop predictive models for purposes of formulating appropriate investment strategies. The Stream focuses on the nexus between data analytics, economic modelling and the operations of financial markets. While the emergence of "big data" means great amount of information are available to investors and regulators, the extraction of these information from such large scale data requires seamless integration of computer programming, statistics, econometrics and thorough understanding on the operations of our economies and financial markets. This course is designed to fill this gap by providing students with a broad scope of skills covering these diverse areas in an integrated manner.

STRP-FINAR v.1 Fine Art Stream (GCert Arts)
Curtin University
This major/stream is part of a larger course. Information is specific to the major/stream, please refer to the course for more information. The Fine Art stream is available in the Graduate Certificate in Arts course. It is designed for those seeking to develop an introductory understanding of Fine Art.

STRP-EMSYS v.1 Embedded Systems Stream (MEngSc ElectricalEng)
Curtin University
This major/stream is part of a larger course. Information is specific to the major/stream, please refer to the course for more information. Our world is characterised by the ever-increasing number of intelligent devices which have inbuilt or 'embedded' computers. Embedded systems are computers with specialised input/output devices that may, or may not be programmed by the end user. Some embedded systems can connect to the internet and access all its information, typical examples are smart phones and tablets. In this stream students will study intermediate and advanced topics in embedded systems, for example, embedded systems in field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) and embedded software engineering. During their one-year project students have the opportunity to further investigate and apply emergent technologies in embedded systems.

STRP-EMPWR v.1 Emerging Power Systems Stream (MEngSc ElectricalEng)
Curtin University
This major/stream is part of a larger course. Information is specific to the major/stream, please refer to the course for more information. Electricity is a key energy source in the development and progress of contemporary society. Since fossil fuels are a finite resource, the development of alternative sources of electrical energy such as solar and wind is vital. This stream addresses challenges in the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity. Emergent technologies like smart grid and distributed generation are covered in detail. During their one-year project students have the opportunity to further investigate and apply emergent technologies in power systems.

STRP-CWRIT v.1 Creative Writing Stream (GCert Arts)
Curtin University
This major/stream is part of a larger course. Information is specific to the major/stream, please refer to the course for more information. The Creative Writing stream is available in the Graduate Certificate in Arts course. It is designed for those seeking to develop an introductory understanding of creative writing.

STRP-CURTN v.1 Curtin Entry Stream (MSc Global Subsea Eng)
Curtin University
This major/stream is part of a larger course. Information is specific to the major/stream, please refer to the course for more information. This stream allows for students to commence their study at Curtin and then move on to Aberdeen completing the four mandatory units at both institutions (i.e. total of eight units). The final unit of the stream is to complete a project unit based either at Aberdeen or Curtin, which ensures that students have mastered the subject matter of the subsea engineering course.
