(CRICOS: 070773G)This is a blended business-technology degree that combines a comprehensive technology and business curriculum with a unique global educational experience.Studying across Carnegie Mellon’s Adelaide and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, campuses, you will gain an international perspective by learning in the United States and Australia with a strong focus on the Asia Pacific region. You will spend your 1st and 2nd study periods in Adelaide and 4th and 5th in Pittsburgh. You are also required to take 280 hours of internship in either Australia or internationally in your 3rd study period.You are encouraged to customise your program by selecting a specialisation designed to advance your careers in: electronic commerce, business intelligence, information security management, IT strategy and management and healthcare informatics. The program specialisation is especially valuable for students who intend to pursue a career in IT and management consulting.

Graduate Certificate in BIDA

The Graduate Certificate in BIDA is a program designed for mid-career professionals or students who have already received a Bachelor’s degree in approved fields to upgrade their qualifications and provide advanced practical skills required in data science.Our hybrid learning program makes it possible for you to earn a graduate certificate from Carnegie Mellon, ranked No. 1 in Information Technology & Management by US News & World Report since 2005. With our asynchronous, anytime/anywhere delivery model, you don’t need to leave your current job or relocate to our Adelaide campus for your graduate studies.The Graduate Certificate in BIDA can help to upgrade qualifications and provide advanced practical skills required in data science. The certificate is ideal for mid-career professionals or students who have already received a Bachelor’s degree in approved fields. We offer a rigorous curriculum and provide video-captured lectures from our campus classes so that you’re guaranteed access to the same world-class faculty and up-to-date content offered to our campus students. You’ll also interact directly with our renowned faculty, adjunct instructors, teaching assistants and staff throughout the program. All core courses from the certificate will also be available as regular in-class courses and students will have the option of attending regular lectures at the Carnegie Mellon University's campus in Adelaide.Carnegie Mellon Takes Lead in Analytics Technologies for Forecasting Epidemics and PandemicsThe program requires 48 units over three terms between January-December which include 36 units of core courses and 12 units of electives from any available Heinz College courses.For successful completion, you must achieve a cumulative quality point average (QPA) of at least 3.0.If you have a strong background in any of the required courses, you can receive an exemption by passing the exemption exam. If a course does not offer an exemption exam, you will need permission of the instructor. Exempting a course doesn’t reduce the required number of courses you must complete. However, you can add more elective courses to expand your knowledge base.Students who wish to enrol in the Master of Science in Information Technology program after successful completion of the Graduate Certificate in BIDA will automatically gain credits for the 48 units completed in the Graduate Certificate. Advanced Certificate in BIDA

The program is ideal for mid-career professionals and is designed to help meet the expanding needs for data scientists who are skilled in the utilisation of a unique blend of science, art and business. It combines a comprehensive business intelligence, data analytics and management curriculum with an industry-based Data Analytics Capstone Project, delivering valuable career experience, theory and knowledge all in one.With our hybrid delivery model, you will take some courses in our Adelaide campus and a subset of courses online.The program also offers a pathway for further learning in the Master of Science in Information Technology – Business Intelligence and Data Analytics (MSIT-BIDA) program.Carnegie Mellon Takes Lead in Analytics Technologies for Forecasting Epidemics and PandemicsThe program requires 96 units: 72 units of core courses and 24 units of elective courses.For successful completion, you must complete the requisite coursework and achieve a cumulative quality point average (QPA) of at least 3.0.The electives below represent a selection of those that have been offered in the past. Tertiary Enabling Program

The Tertiary Enabling Program (TEP) is a free program that helps build your academic skills, knowledge and confidence for studying at university. TEP is for you if: it has been a while since you last studied and feel like you now need to refresh your skills; you did not achieve an adequate Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) or equivalent; you have not completed other eligible qualifications that meet the minimum entry requirements for most CDU undergraduate courses. TEP is free for Australian and New Zealand citizens, permanent residents and Humanitarian Visa holders. You can study on-campus or externally with summer semester study options available. During the program, you will develop the skills and strategies for managing university life and study. You will study key areas such as: computing for tertiary study; academic language and learning; foundation maths; bioscience; historical and contemporary issues.

This program introduces you to the culture of higher education and builds the academic skills needed to achieve success in your studies. This course is for you if: you are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander; you have not completed year 12; you have completed year 12 but did not receive the required ATAR score; you have completed a Certificate III or IV course or can demonstrate sufficient skills and knowledge to undertake studies; you have not studied for a long time and want to refresh your academic skills.

Indigenous Pre-Law Program

The Charles Darwin University (CDU) Asia Pacific College of Business and Law delivers an Indigenous pre-law and mentoring program commencing in January-February each year. The program is made up of two components; a 4-week full time intensive pre-law program delivered on-campus at the Asia Pacific College of Business and Law, and an ongoing individual and group mentoring component. Successful completion of the program provides candidates with a pathway into the CDU Bachelor of Laws program, with the potential to commence law studies immediately after completion of the pre-law program. International Foundation Studies Program

The International Foundation Studies Program (FSP) has been developed to meet the needs of students who have a desire to advance their educational knowledge and skills in preparation for entry to university. Core and academic elective content develops theoretical proficiencies, skills and competencies as well as entrepreneurial enterprise, and leadership and team skills to equip students with the pedagogical constructs required for study at tertiary level. In addition to these academic and social foundations, students are also equipped with ongoing cultural orientation to Australia and the Northern Territories. The Program is also designed to allow students to experience a focused study in an area of special interest or in specific disciplines that will better prepare them to study across the various sectors of their selected university course. It also helps students set and articulate goals and improve their self-management capabilities and confidence.

Diploma of Yolngu Studies

This unique course introduces you to traditional knowledge practices of Yolngu people in northern Australia, and the sounds and grammar of their languages. You will develop your skills in analysis and discussion of Yolngu narratives, both oral and written forms in Yolngu languages as well as an understanding of the variety of ways in which ethical behaviour and protocols govern the interactions with people and how knowledge is used and shared.
