The Master of Education is designed to meet the needs of experienced educators seeking professional learning, personal and professional enquiry and intellectual engagement within a specialist area or across a range of specialisations.

The Master of Teaching is a pre-service teaching degree that will give you the skills and knowledge to teach in a primary or secondary school setting. The degree is designed to build upon tertiary qualifications and experience, enabling students to complete a teaching qualification in as little as 2 years. This course is accredited through the Tasmanian Teachers Registration Board, and is recognised in all Australian states and territories.Master of Teaching students can specialise in primary or secondary teaching.The secondary teaching specialisation requires students to choose two curriculum teaching areas, which are determined by the discipline(s) undertaken in the student’s undergraduate degree.You will be required to undertake a number of Professional Experience placements totalling 60 days. This will give you the opportunity to apply the theoretical and practical skills that you have learnt in a safe and supportive environment.The Master of Teaching is available on-campus in Hobart and fully online- by distance. Due to the circumstances around COVID-19, you will begin your studies online. However, when Government guidelines change, on-campus studies will be reintroduced.The Master of Architecture degree is an accredited professional degree that provides advanced education in architecture and is the principal pathway to registration as a practising architect.The program extends the development of skills and knowledge in architecture built on the undergraduate Bachelor of Architecture and Built Environments degree and draws on a rich treasury of teaching traditions, community partnerships, technical capabilities, design excellence, and questing research. The program aims to foster a profound and enduring engagement with architecture as profession, discipline, and culture.Project-based design studios form the core of the program. These emphasise professionalism, critical and rigorous design thinking, knowledge of contemporary and emergent theories, technologies and practices, and the development of skills for a diversity of future careers in architecture. Students gain experience tackling a range of challenging design problems, including those relating to urban futures, social and environmental responsibility, and complex buildings.Studios are complemented by units in Professional Practice, Advanced Technologies, and Design Research, with a choice of options to enable tailored pathways through the field. The program culminates with a research-led final project nurtured by professional and discipline leaders in small studio groups.

The Master of Health Service Management is an advanced course of study designed to provide management professionals from both the public and private health sectors with training focussed on issues of contemporary professional management practice. Some of Australia's leading senior health service executives teach into the units. Students are therefore exposed to a level of unparalleled experience and real-world case-studies.The MHSM is offered only on a part-time basis (12 units over 2 to 3 years). The Master of Professional Accounting (Specialisation) (MPAS) is designed to train those who do not have an accounting background or who need to up-skill to meet the professional accounting requirements. Students holding an accredited accounting qualification of an Australian institution are not eligible to seek entry into this course.This is a 2 year full-time or 4 year part-time course of study offered by the Tasmanian School of Business and Economics. It comprises 16 units of study: 12 core units and 4 units which make up a specialisation.The course is full fee-paying, which means that you will be charged at the full fee-paying rate listed for each unit.Please note that if you are awarded advanced standing (credit) for any units in this degree, you should be aware that the accounting accrediting bodies will assess this advanced standing separately and that this advanced standing may not be approved. This course provides training in accounting primarily for those who do not have an accounting background. Successful completion of this course means that you will be eligible for professional accounting body associate membership.This is an 18 month (12 unit) full-time or 3 year part-time course of study offered by the Tasmanian School of Business and Economics. The course is available in both on campus and off campus modes.
