The program aims to: facilitate the development and consolidation of knowledge and skills in teaching and learning in community, professional and workplace learning settings that are informed by contemporary learning theory and futures-oriented approaches support the application of these knowledges and skills through learner-centred design, flexible delivery and individualise an authentic assessment to enhance quality of services for their learners.

Graduate Certificate of Workforce Diversity and Inclusion (GCDI)

Back to top Program aims The aim of the Graduate Certificate of Workforce Diversity and Inclusion is to incorporate current theory and application which will assist students in moving from a perspective ‘Is diversity good for business’ to a perspective of ‘How can effective diversity management benefit organisations and their employees?’ Students will develop a comprehensive understanding of the importance of successful and seamless inclusion as an outcome of effective diversity management. This is achieved through developing a thorough understanding of individual and group aspects of diversity, theoretical explanations of intergroup relations as well as interpersonal and cross cultural relations in the workplace. Current practice is examined through the use of diversity management paradigms, inclusive workplace concepts and relevant cases.

Back to top Program aims The aim of the Graduate Certificate of Business is to enable students to undertake postgraduate study across a range of disciplines to meet their specific work-place needs or to study a discipline specialisation to either provide advanced work-place knowledge and skills or to lay a platform for further study in the Master of Business Administration . , Master of Business and Innovation, Master of Information Systems, Master of Professional Accounting or Master of Project Management. The selection of the courses or discipline specialisation chosen will be influenced by the demands of the work environment and the interests of the student. The entry requirements of articulating programs should be considered when choosing courses. Students who have completed the Graduate Certificate of Business are not eligible to enter the Master of Business Administration . or Master of Project Management until they satisfy the required minimum of two years' full-time relevant professional work experience in business.

Graduate Certificate of Aviation (GCAV)

Back to top Program aims The Graduate Certificate of Aviation is a professionally-oriented program. It provides graduates with a thorough understanding of the principles and concepts of the aviation system, its components, aircraft operations, aviation human factors and safety, and support and enabling processes. It addresses management and business principles, enabling graduates to critically analyse, evaluate and manage any element of the aviation system, including operations, aviation human factors, and support or ancillary roles. It will also provide opportunities to examine human factors and performance issues within an aviation context and aviation safety systems more generally.

Doctor of Professional Engineering (DPEN)

Back to top Program aims The aim of the Doctor of Professional Engineering program is to enhance the skills of already high performing professional engineers in the areas of detailed technical investigation, applied research and development, innovative design and analysis. The program allows candidates to develop and demonstrate these essential skills by communicating their significant original professional technical achievements as a substantial body of work in a formal academic format. In addition, candidates are likely to acquire some additional key management knowledge and/or broad technological knowledge. The specific set of knowledge will depend on the candidate’s choice of courses.

Juris Doctor (DJUR)

Back to top Program aims The Juris Doctor is a graduate entry program (for holders of non-law bachelor degrees) that provides students with the opportunity for a comprehensive study of law. The program aims to equip students with an academic qualification for professional practice. Not all law graduates aspire to a career in legal practice, but the specialised capabilities that a legal education can offer enhances their capacity to pursue many other possible careers. The program provides opportunities for students to develop advanced skills in analysis, problem-solving, communication, dispute-resolution, ethical decision-making, research and critical thinking - and engage with varying theories and perspectives on the law and the broader contexts for its operation. The program includes a particular focus on the development of high-level applied research skills.
