Entry requirements
Application for entry into this course is a 2-stage process comprising initial application, and if selected, an interview. This course has a quota of 20 students for each intake.
Initial application Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for entry to the course:
* Hold current AHPRA registration as a dentist. Practitioners with limited, non-practicing or student registration are not eligible for entry to this course.
* Have completed a minimum of 2 years full-time (or equivalent) practice as a general dentist
* Submit a Statement of Intent to study the Graduate Diploma of Dental Implantology. This must be submitted using the attached form and will include:
- a statement of interest in and commitment to dental implantology - information about prior work, study and other experience in implantology - capacity to undertake study and meet the course clinical requirements - recognition and utilisation of principles of adult learning - previous experience of distance or online study - names of two professional referees familiar with the applicant’s work as a dentist
Applicants will also need to upload a completed Student Authority form. This form allows the University to share selected information with the Australian Dental Association NSW Centre for Professional Development for administrative and admission purposes.
Interview Based on the above criteria, a proportion of applicants will be selected to participate in a short interview (20-30 min) to discuss their Statement of Intent, the course requirements and their eligibility / suitability for the program.
Interviews will be held by Skype or in person with the interview panel comprising dental staff from both the University and the Australian Dental Association NSW Centre for Professional Development.
Application process 1. Submit your application online including copies of transcripts, evidence of registration and work experience, Statement of Intent and Student Authority form. 2. All applications will be considered after the closing date. No late or incomplete submissions will be considered. 3. Applicants shortlisted for interviews will be contacted to arrange a time for the interview. Interviews are held approx. 6 weeks prior to course commencement. Both successful and unsuccessful applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application.
