From Term 1 (January), 2021 there will be no Commonwealth Supported Places (CSP) available.This course is for high achievers who want to undertake a graduate research degree such as a research masters degree or a PhD, but do not meet the eligibility requirements of previous research experience or feel they do not have sufficient previous research experience.It is designed as a pathway course to prepare you to undertake research at a postgraduate level.

You will learn about research methodology, research design and research ethics as you plan and conduct a research study that can lead onto a graduate research course.If you complete the Graduate Certificate with high grades, you will be well placed to commence a successful Masters or PhD candidature in the field of education.

Structure

The course consists of two units. The first, EDF5613 Research approaches in education, will orient you to educational research and provide you with an understanding of educational research approaches and methodologies.

You will apply this understanding in the second unit, EDF5614 Research project in education, when you design and implement a research project. It is through this project, leading to a thesis of 10,000 words, that you will demonstrate your capacity to undertake and communicate high level research synthesis, analysis and evaluation.

Qualifications

An Australian undergraduate four year bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in education or a related discipline with an average mark of at least 65%.

English requirements

Applicants must also meet the English language requirements.
