Bachelor of Construction Management (Honours)

This four-year professional degree will prepare you for future leadership and managerial roles in the building and construction industry. You’ll be able to pursue your career interests and specialise in one of three high-growth areas in construction project management, quantity surveying, or building surveying in your final year. Throughout your studies, you’ll develop a well-rounded understanding of the entire project lifecycle. You’ll explore modern project management techniques, develop skills to assess building compliance, and gain financial acumen to manage construction businesses in a commercial environment. The technical and practical skills gained throughout your degree will prepare you for a range of roles required in large-scale commercial, infrastructure and residential projects. As a student, you’ll be introduced to Building Information Modelling (BIM) and modern construction techniques. You’ll also learn to use software that construction and building professionals use on a regular basis including Autodesk Revit, MS Project, Cost X, Navisworks 2016 and Synchro Pro. If you’re already working in the industry, you’ll have the opportunity to immediately apply what you’ve learned in the workplace.

Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (Honours) (Whyalla)

You will graduate skilled, confident and ready to pursue your teaching career in early childhood or primary education (birth to 8 years of age). This industry-relevant degree is a four-year professional degree solely focused on teaching, that will equip you with the practical skills and theoretical knowledge to thrive as a contemporary educator in childcare, pre-school, and junior primary settings. The curriculum is practical in nature and you will begin work placements during your first six months. This focus on industry experience will continue throughout your studies, and on graduation you will have completed 110 days of field-based placements. You will also develop an in-depth understanding of the principles and concepts relating to early childhood development and learning, as well as leadership and advocacy in matters relating to early childhood. The primary specialisms available externally include Arts, English and Mathematics/Science. The initial teacher education qualification for the Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (Honours) meets the Teachers Registration Board of South Australia (the Board) qualification requirements for the purpose of teacher registration in South Australia and the requirements of the national approach to the Accreditation of Initial Teacher Education Programs in Australia.

This degree has been designed to meet the requirements for professional accreditation by Engineers Australia (EA). Such accreditation is provisional until the degree produces its first graduates.
