Bachelor of Science (Chiropractic)

In the Bachelor of Science (Chiropractic) you will study the history, philosophy and theories of chiropractic and the scientific foundations of the profession.  You will begin to develop the core clinical skills used in the diagnosis and management of patients presenting for care including the basic therapeutic approaches to common musculoskeletal presentations.  On successful completion of this course you will be eligible to apply for entry into the Master of Clinical Chiropractic (CC71) which is required to register and work as a Chiropractor.

Bachelor of Hospitality Management

The Bachelor of Hospitality Management is designed for students who have completed an Associate degree or Advanced Diploma or a Diploma from a recognised institution. The two-year course provides you with a direct pathway based on prior completion of vocational or higher education qualification in hospitality management. The course provides you with knowledge and skills to work effectively in hospitality and tourism industry. The vocational pathway provides you with a strong foundation to complete the degree in two years.

Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Accounting

Central Queensland University

The Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Accounting provides you with dual qualifications and skills which are well regarded in both the private and public sectors. You will develop a sound understanding of both disciplines and the relationship between accounting and the legal profession. The Bachelor of Laws provides you with a degree that is accredited by the Legal Practitioners Admissions Board (QLD). After completing an additional Practical Legal Training Course graduates may seek admission as an Australian Legal Practitioner. Mutual recognition laws enable admission in other Australian jurisdictions. The Bachelor of Accounting provides you with a degree that is accredited by CPA Australia, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ) and Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and meets the associate membership requirements of the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA). If you complete LAWS19034 and LAWS19035, you can also be eligible to apply for registration with the Tax Practitioners Board (after meeting the Board's requirements for practical experience). Graduates are also eligible to join the Association of Taxation and Management Accountants at the member level.

Bachelor of Accident Forensics

The Accident Forensics degree develops expertise in the investigation and analysis of the factors which lead to accidents and the interventions required to prevent their recurrence. Accident Forensics graduates demonstrate advanced skills at systematically breaking down the factors leading to an accident and making the necessary findings and conclusions for prevention. The course provides core studies in: Accident Phenomenology; Investigation Methods; Forensic Engineering; Accident Analysis; Human Factors Investigation and Occupational Health and Safety. You will complete a capstone accident investigation project based on a ‘real' accident reconstruction at the university ‘crash lab'. The 120 hour work placement with practising accident investigators in the field ensures you are well prepared to integrate into your chosen career. The course has been developed in consultation with Australia's leading accident investigation professionals from air, rail, road and industrial contexts, and the leading organisations and government authorities which inform public safety strategies. You will also graduate with professional skills in occupational health and safety and will be well prepared to work in that area. You may apply for the award, Diploma of Workplace Health and Safety in addition to the Bachelor of Accident Forensics.

Bachelor of Allied Health

The Bachelor of Allied Health produces work-ready health professionals who have the knowledge, skills and necessary qualifications to make a real difference within the wider Allied Health community. Throughout this course you will develop your knowledge in a broad range of topics including anatomy and physiology, health psychology, population health and health promotion. You will also undertake more detailed study in one of the minors offered within this course including Community Health Project Management, Healthy Ageing and Aged Care, and Indigenous Health and Wellbeing. Opportunities to apply your knowledge and skills in rich and authentic learning environments through laboratory activities, research projects and work integrated learning experiences will be provided as a part of this course. During work-integrated learning opportunities you will undertake genuine hands on, real life professional experiences. You also have the option to complete the vocational award of HLT33015 Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance, through successful completion of your first year of study plus one pre-determined elective unit that can be embedded into your study plan. This vocational award enables entry to the allied health workforce as an Allied Health Assistant. At the completion of your studies, you will be well-placed to find employment as a competent health professional within the Allied Health industry and/or to continue with further studies at an honours or postgraduate level.

In the Bachelor of Oral Health course, you will learn to perform preventive and operative dentistry for patients across the lifespan. You will be able to educate and promote oral health to community groups and individuals. You will graduate with a wide scope of practice, including adult scope, and gain experience working with, about and from other health practitioners. On graduation, you will be eligible to apply to the Dental Board of Australia for registration as an Oral Health Therapist. Registered graduates of this course are highly sought after in Queensland and in other states as they have are 'work ready' for both the public and private sectors. Depending on your area of interest, you will also be able to own and manage your own dental practice, assist with supervising and teaching students in the tertiary sector and pursue post-graduate studies.

Management of environmental issues such as pollution, climate change, biodiversity loss and habitat destruction are critical for the future. In the Bachelor of Environmental Science you will examine, measure, monitor and manage aspects of the Earth’s living and non-living environment. Your first year of study will incorporate skills-focused units that will develop field and laboratory competencies useful for research, and desired by industry and government. Further study of transdisciplinary subjects such as environmental economics, geography, environmental law and community engagement, in addition to biological and chemical sciences, will develop skills and knowledge that enable you to contribute to the sustainability of ecosystems and societies. With a degree in Environmental Science, you may continue onto higher degree research programs or obtain employment in a wide range of occupations such as Conservation Officer, Environmental Consultant, Environmental Scientist or Park Ranger.
