Associate Degree of Vocational Education and Training

This qualification is for teachers and trainers within the vocational education and training sector, in TAFE, Registered Training Organisations, industry or adult education settings; or for people wishing to work in such settings. The qualification equips VET teachers and trainers with high-level skills and knowledge to handle the challenges of industry engagement, new modes of learning and a changing VET environment. You will acquire: an understanding of the principles and practice of competency based education and assessment relevant to a range of settings insight into the broad social, economic and political context for VET an understanding of learning theories and how to apply them knowledge and techniques to address literacy and numeracy needs of learners an ability to analyse, and think critically and constructively about, issues and developments in the VET sector advanced skills in teaching practice skills and knowledge to liaise with industry at local and national levels skills and knowledge in reflective practice and applied research confidence to pursue higher-level university studiesThis part time course is delivered over 2 years, or 1.5 years if you have already completed a Diploma of VET or Diploma of VET Practice.

Graduate Certificate in Education (Tertiary Education)

Diploma of University Studies (Sport, Physical and Outdoor Education)

The Diploma of University Studies provides a pathway into a number of Federation University Bachelor degrees, giving you the opportunity to begin studying subjects from these degrees from day one.This pathway will suit you if you have decided on Outdoor Education or PE teaching but do not have the entry requirements after completing VCE, as a mature student or if you are now considering going to university after completing either VCAL or an unscored VCE. The Diploma will prepare you for degree level study while getting you started on the subjects you will need to earn a sport, physical and outdoor education qualification. As most of the Diploma subjects are from the first year of the Bachelor of Sport, Physical and Outdoor Education and the Bachelor of Outdoor and Environmental Education, this pathway will take you from the Diploma into the second year of either of these degrees giving you a taste of specialisations common to both degrees and an insight into the types of employment you may expect upon completion. Your studies will also focus on academic writing, mathematical skills and developing an understanding of the university learning environment.You can follow either the Bachelor of Sport, Physical and Outdoor Education or the Bachelor of Outdoor and Environmental Education with the Master of Teaching, and you will be ready to embark on a teaching career with all the skills and confidence which makes our teaching graduates so sought after.

Diploma of University Studies (Information Technology)

This pathway will suit you if you have decided to study an IT degree but do not have the entry requirements after completing VCE, as a mature student, or if you are now considering going to university after completing VCAL or an unscored VCE. The Diploma will prepare you for degree level study as well as getting you started on the subjects to start your IT qualification. Your studies will include academic writing, mathematical skills and developing an understanding of the university learning environment as well as a range of subjects selected from the first year of our suite of Information Technology degrees. This pathway will take you from the Diploma into the second year of most of our IT degrees. There are seven to choose from, so you decide which one suits you best. Having had a taste of core units from across these degrees, you will be well placed to make the best choice for you.

Diploma of University Studies (Engineering)

Graduate Diploma of Brewing

Certificate IV in Professional Writing and Editing
