This course is ideally suited to nurses, other health professionals or those wanting to develop knowledge and expertise in the care of older adults in a variety of settings. The global ageing population continues to grow rapidly, creating both increased demands on aged care service delivery and opportunities for innovation to provide high quality care and services that meet the needs and expectations of older adults. The course aims to develop excellence in leadership, innovation and contemporary care delivery to older adults, to meet the rapidly increasing demand for highly skilled aged care professionals.

This course provides opportunities for professionals who wish to add to their qualifications and experience by extending their knowledge in environmental management. It is designed for professionals who require the skills and knowledge to integrate environmental planning and monitoring into the broader decision-making of their organisations. Aspects of environmental management covered in this course include impact assessment and risk management, while emphasising the global, regional and local nature of environmental issues. Students can elect to take a research training unit or work on integrated catchments or waste management.

This nationally-recognised one-year qualification reflects the role of performers working or aspiring to work in musical theatre and cabaret productions. Students will develop skills in acting, singing and dancing, and the important integration of all three, through highly practical classes and production projects.

This course prepares performers with a range of knowledge, and skills to enter the performing arts industry as an actor for roles in theatre productions. On successful completion of the course, students will have integrated theatre acting, voice, movement, and industry practice into a tangible performance skill, acquired knowledge of script analysis in the context of acting for theatre, and be cognisant of the communication and pre-professional skills necessary to audition for and perform roles in theatre.

This nationally-recognised qualification is designed to prepare students for a wide range of careers in the music industry, giving them the knowledge and skills to become a performer, composer or sound engineer. As well as gaining essential theoretical knowledge, students will be assessed on their understanding of the specialised, technical and managerial competencies required to work in the music industry. Students learn in a multi-disciplinary performing arts academy, and have access to hundreds of outstanding performances over the course of the year. Within the Diploma of Music Industry students can specialise in: - Composition - Sound Production - Performance (Classical, Jazz, Contemporary Performance or Contemporary Music Artist).

This nationally-recognised qualification is the first year of a two-year vocational Production and Design program. The course is structured to provide skills and experience consistent with the growing needs of the entertainment industry. Students work as directed on productions mounted by WAAPA and begin by assisting until sufficiently skilled to perform designated tasks. In the final year of the program, students will be expected to provide service to the productions at a professional level of competence.

This course provides an opportunity for motivated and academically capable teachers to re-train in a learning area of great demand. An emphasis upon both curriculum content and best teaching practice in Western Australian secondary schools is a strong and consistent theme in the pedagogy and content units. The Social Science specialisation provides both a refresher and a consolidation of content skills for teachers who wish to re-train in the teaching of Social Science up to and including Year 10. The course is supported by both highly organised materials and flexible delivery for online units.

This nationally-recognised qualification is the second year of a two-year vocational music program at WAAPA. The course is designed for musicians wishing to expand their songwriting, instrumental (including vocal), ensemble and musicianship skills. The course also caters for students wishing to expand sound recording, designing and mixing skills. On completion of this course, a successful graduate would be expected to gain national industry recognition.

Environmental health is a sub-discipline of public health that focuses on environmental dimensions of health. There is a growing demand for technicians who have the practical and theoretical knowledge and skills necessary to be employed in support roles to the environmental health directorates of state and local government organizations. The course prepares students to make a positive contribution to the health of communities. Students graduate with the ability to think critically about prevention and control of communicable and environmental disease and a range of other environmental health issues, to work independently and as part of a team, and plan and coordinate environmental health projects. Upon completion of the course, students will be able to gain 8 units advanced standing to the Bachelor of Health Sciences degree.
