SPPC-DMKTG v.1 Digital Marketing Specialisation (MBA)

Some Specialisations may assist students to progress into postgraduate studies, but have specific entry requirements. The MBA Specialisation in Digital Marketing is suitable for students seeking to develop the fundamental skills of digital marketing or extend their knowledge in various marketing areas. The Specialisation deepens students’ understanding of the importance and significance of digital marketing in the twenty-first century as well as enhancing their practical capability in its use. In the Specialisation you will learn about the fundamental principles of digital marketing, explore the foundations of each digital channel, digital tactics, strategies and processes. From identifying and articulating critical customer groups, to evaluating the fundamentals of effective SEO and SEM strategies and analysing social media marketing campaigns, you will also have the opportunity to plan and implement an online marketing campaign (Google Adwords) and learn how data analytics (Facebook to Google Analytics) can be used to guide marketing decisions. Professional Recognition This course is recognised nationally as an initial pre-service teaching qualification. Initial Teacher Education courses in Australia are accredited by the relevant authority in the state or territory in which the institution providing the qualification is based. Accordingly, the Master of Teaching (Secondary Education) course provided by Curtin University is fully accredited by the Teacher Registration Board of WA (TRBWA). Opportunities are offered at Curtin to students from abroad to undertake studies for credit to their degree at their home university but not take a degree from this University. Students participate through formally negotiated study exchange arrangements between this University and partner universities abroad. This General English course develops students' confidence in using English when living, studying or working in an English-speaking environment. Students should choose this course if they would like the enjoyment and stimulation of improving their English in a modern university environment. General English is offered at B2 level on the Common European Framework, also known as Vantage. It is an upper-intermediate course; Students will enter this program based on an assessment of their current English ability. This is achieved by taking our placement test, providing English language proficiency results upon application or by their performance in an English program with an approved partner provider whose assessments are moderated by Curtin English. A graduate of this course can: develop English language and English language writing skills appropriate for producing texts at the required level of proficiency, manipulate grammatical structures to communicate effectively at the required level of proficiency, demonstrate independent learning through reflection and active learning techniques, distinguish between main and supporting ideas in a spoken or written text at the required level of proficiency, produce spoken utterances and interactions at the required level of proficiency, negotiate meaning with other users of English at the required level of proficiency. The required level of proficiency will vary depending upon the language requirements of their next course of study. Course Overview Note This course develops English Language Proficiency of learners at Common European Framework, Level B2 comprising the development of receptive and productive skills and the use of English language. Learners are supported to develop their ability to use grammatical structures accurately and appropriately, to broaden their range of vocabulary and functional language, and to develop their productive skills of speaking and writing as well as their receptive skills of reading and listening. The course prepares learners to use English language with a certain level of proficiency in a work, life and study context.
