Through CQUniversity's Graduate Diploma of Cardiac Ultrasound course, you will complete extensive clinical practice whilst receiving online and learning support, combined with practical tuition through on-campus residential schools in our state-of-the-art ultrasound simulation laboratories. A comprehensive academic team of qualified echocardiographers will support your development of skills in image acquisition and cardiac measurement whilst providing you the essential knowledge in cardiac anatomy and pathophysiology. This course is offered in part-time mode over a period of two years. On successful completion of this course, graduates will be eligible for registration by the Australian Sonographers Accreditation Registry.

The Graduate Diploma of Tactical Medicine will provide you with the knowledge, the clinical skills and clinical reasoning required to deal with the complex challenges of treating acute critically ill or injured patients in dynamic and high threat environments. You will learn to assess, plan, prepare and implement strategies for successful operations and patient management within a tactical environment. As well as gaining new clinical knowledge, you will further develop your assessment and diagnostic skills and interventions in the management of diverse population groups. These new competencies can be applied in direct threat, indirect threat and prolonged field care environments.

This course provides essential knowledge and skills for the nurse employed in correctional services in order to provide high quality nursing care to the offender population. In this course you will learn about the many facets of the nursing role including primary health care, chronic disease management, health education and responding to emergencies. You will undertake study to understand offenders, why they are likely to offend and the effect of incarceration, in particular how this relates to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population. You will gain knowledge about licit and illicit drug use, harm minimisation strategies and treatment relevant to the prison environment. The term ‘jail craft’ refers to the many strategies that nurses use in this unique environment to manage their patients and their self. ‘Jail craft’, is explored and in particular, you will learn strategies to manage the impact of trauma on self and in the prisoner population.

In this course you will develop the capacity to identify, analyse and resolve general problems relating to professional practice in Financial Planning. The course is designed for current financial planners seeking greater depth of knowledge in foundation and applied areas of Financial Planning. The course contains considerable flexibility and may be configured to include the three "bridging units" required for practice in Financial Planning. The course is orientated to the educational standards required in the industry. Upon graduation you will be able to enrol with advanced standing into the Graduate Diploma of Financial Planning or the Master of Financial Planning.

You will learn to assess, plan, prepare and implement strategies for successful operation in the civilian tactical environment. Building upon your current knowledge, you will gain new clinical knowledge, skills and interventions, and fine-tune your critical thinking, problem-solving, communication and leadership skills and apply these to dynamic direct, indirect, high threat and prolonged field care environments.

This course is an exit award for students undertaking the Bachelor of Applied Technology.

The Graduate Certificate in Applied Forensic Psychology focuses on the application of forensic psychology to the investigation and prosecution of criminal offences. You will study how the history of forensic psychology has shaped contemporary investigative practice and impacted on the professional standing of psychology in the criminal justice system (in Australia and overseas). During this course, you will examine the interviewing of witnesses and suspects, and the application of offender profiling and crime analysis. You will learn evidenced-based approaches for forensic psychology interventions and practical applications. At the completion of your study, you will be able to explain forensic psychology principles using the concepts, language, and major theories of the discipline, and understand the ethical and practical issues of related professions. The Graduate Certificate in Applied Forensic Psychology is intended for psychologists and graduates from a relevant discipline, including criminology, sociology, social work or law, wishing to enter the forensic field. It is available to domestic and international students and includes a compulsory residential school.

The Graduate Certificate in Stress and Trauma Response will assist you to recognise the symptoms and outcomes of chronic stress and trauma in a workplace setting. The course will examine the physiological and psychological factors which underpin stress and trauma. There will also be the opportunity to explore a range of intervention and management strategies. The course, designed for service personnel and allied health practitioners, will provide you with the practical skills required to recognise and manage the adverse symptoms associated with chronic stress or trauma exposure, in colleagues and/or clients. The curriculum for the Graduate Certificate in Stress and Trauma Response draws on evidence-based theories, models, and best practices from disciplines including psychology, coaching, health promotion, and counselling. The Graduate Certificate in Stress and Trauma Response is offered as online learning and is available on a full time or part time enrolment basis.

The Graduate Diploma of Traumatic Stress Management will assist you to work with colleagues and/or clients in a workplace setting and recognise the symptoms and outcomes of chronic stress and trauma. The course will examine the physiological and psychological factors which underpin stress and trauma. There will also be the opportunity to explore a range of intervention and management strategies, and referral pathways. The course, designed for service personnel and allied health practitioners, will provide you with the detailed knowledge and practical skills required to become competent at working with colleagues or clients, who may be experiencing adverse symptoms associated with chronic stress or trauma exposure, or who have received a diagnosis of Post-traumatic Stress Disorder. The curriculum for the Graduate Diploma of Traumatic Stress Management draws on evidence-based theories, models, and best practices from disciplines including psychology, coaching, health promotion, and counselling.
