This course provides you with opportunities to study a range of topics relating to aspects of organisational management. You will develop the critical conceptual and behavioural capabilities necessary for managing people and organisations and the key functional business insights around marketing, decision making, financial management and stakeholder engagement. The Graduate Certificate in Business Administration allows articulation into the Graduate Diploma of Business Administration, the Master of Business Administration or other Masters courses at CQUniversity depending on your previous work experience and study.

The Graduate Diploma of Accident Investigation develops advanced level expertise in the investigation and analysis of the factors which lead to accidents and the interventions required to prevent their recurrence. Graduate Diploma of Accident Investigation graduates demonstrate advanced skills at systematically breaking down the factors leading to an accident and making the necessary findings and conclusions for prevention. This course will be attractive to those who have responsibility for accident investigations across industry and society. The course provides core studies in the principles of accident investigation, accident phenomenology, accident forensics, accident analysis and human factors investigation. Students are then able to continue into the Master of Safety Science (Specialisation) and choose a specialist domain (air, rail, road or industrial). Students complete an applied accident investigation project based on a ‘real' accident reconstruction at the university ‘crash lab'. The course has been developed in consultation with Australia's leading accident investigation professionals from air, rail, road and industrial contexts, and the leading organisations and government authorities which inform public safety strategies.

The aim of the Graduate Certificate in Advanced Safety Science Practice is to provide students who have graduated with a Bachelor of OHS or Graduate Diploma of OHS an opportunity to further develop their safety science related knowledge, analysis and research skills in a way that will enable them to lead and manage specific complex safety environments. Students have an opportunity to choose an advanced specialisation to complement their previous studies including: Transport safety management, Risk engineering, Human factors engineering, and Emergency services safety. Students will have the opportunity to gain crucial lifelong learning and transferable generic skills, such as critical thinking, and problem solving. They will be able to apply these skills to a range of employment opportunities and life situations to complement their disciplinary base. In the Graduate Diploma of Information Systems (GDIS) you will gain a broad understanding of IS applications in industry as well as specific skills in programming, systems analysis, databases, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) services management and project management. These skills will help you to manage future business challenges, enhancing your individual advancement and employment opportunities.

This course provides professional knowledge and skills in information technology (IT). In the GDIT, you will gain a broad understanding of IT applications in industry as well as specific skills in programming, databases and project management. You will choose one unit from one of the three majors in the MIT (software design and development, networks and information security, and mobile application development) and one general elective. These skills will help you to manage future business challenges, enhancing your individual advancement and employment opportunities.

Public health refers to a collection of disciplines that share a common aim- to prevent disease, promote health and improve wellbeing among the population as a whole rather than focusing on individuals. Some of the most important advances in health internationally over the last century have been public health interventions- including the eradication of smallpox, improvements in workplace safety, reduced morbidity from cholera and decreased trends in tobacco smoking. Students of the Associate Degree in Public Health will develop a broad understanding of evidence-based strategies to address existing, evolving and re-emerging health risks and achieve higher standards of health and wellbeing. A strong emphasis on participation, prevention and partnership with the community is threaded throughout the curriculum. Students will choose to major in either health promotion or environmental health. Students majoring in health promotion will learn to apply relevant theoretical knowledge and participate in health promotion activities. Graduates will have the capacity to practise under supervision in accordance with Australian and International health promotion competencies. Study will include topics such as drugs in society, health promotion strategies, indigenous studies and community needs assessment. Students majoring in environmental health will learn to monitor environmental health issues and assist in conflict resolution between agencies, regulated parties and the communities. They will be have the capacity to practise as an entry-level environmental health paraprofessional under supervision. Study will include topics in microbiology, food safety, environmental science, law and communicable disease control. Graduates of the Associate Degree in Public Health will be well placed to work in emerging roles in non-traditional public health areas as well as technical and project support positions within government, non-government and private industry.

If you want to develop a career in accounting but do not meet the admission criteria for the Master of Professional Accounting, you should consider enrolling in this course. Students who successfully complete this course will be allowed to enrol in the Graduate Diploma of Professional Accounting, and will receive credit for the units completed in the Graduate Certificate.

The Graduate Diploma of Professional Accounting equips you with foundational professional skills suitable for a career in accounting. On completion of this award, you can articulate to the Master of Professional Accounting which is accredited by the professional accounting bodies in Australia. You will receive full credit for the units completed in the Graduate Diploma of Professional Accounting.
