The International Foundation Studies Program is a one year pathway program for international students seeking entry into the first year of the majority of undergraduate degrees at the University of Canberra. It is a non-award program designed to equip international students with the skills and capabilities for successful undergraduate study. It is a pre-university year and the curriculum is equivalent to the Australian Year 12. The curriculum has a strong focus on the development of both English language skills and tertiary preparation skills. The curriculum is also focused on developing those preparation skills for study in the Australian tertiary environment. The course can be delivered both onshore and offshore. The program is designed as a generalist (multi-field) program. This provides international students with the opportunity to seek admission to a broad range of degrees. The unit offerings span a range of disciplines and include the following key learning areas: English Mathematics Technology The Arts/Humanities/ Society Whilst the current program consists of 12 core units of study, it has also been structured to ensure that as future opportunities arise there is capacity to introduce specialisations (streams). The Master of Laws in Enterprise Governance is a postgraduate program offered by the Faculty of Law. The program is designed for directors and officers as well as for legal professionals with an interest in enterprise governance. Students enrolled in the program learn about the nature and operation of enterprise governance and the role of the board in a variety of enterprise contexts – including both for-profit and not-for-profit enterprises – and learn how to govern an enterprise in compliance with the relevant legal rules and ethical principles. All subjects in the program are delivered using a combination of online modules and intensive workshops, and all assessment tasks are constructively aligned and authentic.

This cutting edge program has been designed in strong collaboration with industry to assist construction and other built environment professionals to upskill in order to comply with the stringent practice requirements being demanded by government and knowledgeable private sector clients regarding the use of Building Information Modelling (BIM), Lean Construction Practice (Lean) and Integrated Project delivery (IPD) in optimised construction project delivery. The course is the equivalent of forty post graduate credit points. To meet the requirements of industry professionals, the program is delivered by a series of micro-credentialed modules, each comprising a two day learning intensive and a one day learning intensive, and has the objective of preparing industry professionals to be better qualified to work in their professions as BIM, Lean and/or IPD managers, rather than as specialist IT specialist technicians for the niche areas of the technologies covered by the curriculum. The program components have been designed to align with the BIM Framework of buildingSMART Australasia, the open standards of buildingSMART International, the principles espoused by the Lean Construction Institutes of Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States of America, and internationally recognised principles of IPD. This program will provide students with an opportunity to gain and comprehend the knowledge necessary to contribute within their professional areas as BIM/Lean/IPD qualified team members and leaders.
