The Graduate Certificate of Social Impact is designed for high-performing students who are looking to build skills and advance careers in the philanthropy and not-for-profit sectors, social enterprise and entrepreneurship, and social innovation-facing positions in the commercial and public sectors. The course addresses social investment and philanthropy, social entrepreneurship and innovation, creativity and design, and corporate responsibility and accountability. You will learn the core capabilities required to lead people effectively in a changing social economy and business environment and to develop innovative responses to complex social and business problems. The course allows articulation into the Master of Social Impact. The Graduate Certificate of Social Impact is taught by the Centre for Social Impact in partnership with three founding partner business schools from the University of New South Wales, University of Western Australia and Swinburne University of Technology's Faculty of Business and Law.

The Graduate Certificate in Specialist Forensic Assessment and Risk Management is unique in Australia; there are currently no other courses offering this specialised program to a multi-disciplinary audience of professionals. A key strength of the program is the practical focus on how to administer and interpret violence risk assessment tools, and how to formulate recommendations and effective risk management plans. The course will be taught by expert researchers and clinicians in this field, who will bring the course considerable credibility by virtue of their experience not only working with relevant clients, but investigating optimal approaches to violence risk assessment and management. This course is offered through the Centre for Forensic Behavioural Science at Swinburne, in collaboration with the Victorian Institute of Forensic Mental Health (Forensicare).

You’ll learn the skills needed to forge your career in supply chain management. The course covers a range of topics, including innovation, logistics management and lean thinking. You will also develop an understanding of the complex challenges that come with a world dependent on supply and demand. On completion of the course, graduates will be able to work confidently in supply chain management, operations management or logistics management, or complete further study with the Graduate Diploma of Supply Chain Innovation and Master of Supply Chain Innovation.

The Graduate Certificate of Science (Astronomy) is an online course and is part of a nested suite of programs which includes the Graduate Diploma of Science (Astronomy) and Master of Science (Astronomy), with different entry and exit points depending upon previous academic studies.

The Graduate Certificate in Risk Management program is suitable for professionals working, or seeking to work, in risk management related roles and responsibilities in the engineering industry. It is also designed to have considerable application for personnel in a wide range of technologically based industries, including transport (aviation, rail and shipping), heavy industry, process industries (chemical and pharmaceutical), oil and gas, mining and energy production. This course covers risk management in the areas of health, safety, plant, project, production, property, finance and environment. This course is not available to on-shore international students.

The Graduate Certificate of Research and Innovation Management has been designed to enhance the experience, career prospects and employability of PhD students through an innovative research training program. You will complete the coursework (two core units and two electives) alongside your PhD program. Course material is delivered via both online units and on-campus workshops. The assessments for core units are embedded within existing PhD milestones to avoid disruption. This course will expose you to various industry practices within your chosen field, and provide you with a wider range of career options.

The Graduate Certificate of Project Management is designed to provide students with expertise in project management across a range of industries. Students develop the knowledge, skills and conceptual understanding needed to apply project management principles to all aspects of project work. Units cover project management in a range of practical contexts across the areas of entrepreneurship, management and leadership. Students also develop problem-solving skills and learn how to establish and communicate innovative solutions to a range of audiences. They become equipped to create and communicate professional project management plans that address complex business problems and support organisational change.

The Graduate Certificate of Professional Accounting is designed for students who wish to obtain a sound introduction to concepts and procedures in accounting and finance. The program develops the technical, practical, analytical and creative skills necessary to support a successful career in accounting and finance. It provides an entry level into tertiary study and the ability to obtain a tertiary qualification for appropriately qualified candidates.

You’ll develop specialist marketing skills to enable you to develop appropriate strategies and tactics to lead in the fast-paced world of marketing.

The Graduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching (Higher Education) is designed for participants working in an academic or academic support role in higher education. The online course enhances the student learning experience by transforming teaching approaches, practice and innovation through the use of technology and design. It addresses innovative and flexible ways of learning and teaching in contemporary tertiary learning environments, and contributes to a professional culture of scholarship through the use and promotion of research. The course provides students with the ability to evidence their capabilities and assists them to demonstrate capacity to meet criteria when applying for vacancies or promotion. Note: This course is available to local students and off-shore international students who are studying in a country other than Australia; this course is not available to on-shore international students on a student visa.
