Graduate Certificate of Information Technology

The Graduate Certificate of Information Technology course is concerned with the development of theoretical knowledge and practical skills related to the design, construction, operation, support and maintenance of information technology (IT) solutions. This course will provide students with a sample of entry-level skills which introduce techniques used in the design and construction of IT solutions. Students will gain specialist skills and become capable of working with some information technology solutions at an entry level. This course provides graduates with knowledge and skills allowing them to seek semi-professional work in field of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), and as a pathway for further learning. On successful completion of the Graduate Certificate of Information Technology, students may progress to the Graduate Diploma of Information Technology, and will be given full credit for the units completed. The Graduate Certificate of Information Technology is currently pending an update. Once approved applications will reopen for 2020 intake.
Graduate Certificate of Human Resource Management

Co-created with industry partner, Siemens, the course provides a broad understanding of human resource management and explores the core capabilities required for effective leadership in a rapidly changing business environment. The course allows articulation into the Master of Human Resource Management and is part of Swinburne’s Australian Graduate School of Entrepreneurship (AGSE).
Graduate Certificate of Forensic Psychiatric Practice

The Graduate Certificate of Forensic Psychiatric Practice is designed to provide psychiatrists with the knowledge and skills needed to specialise in forensic practice. The course provides academic and practical skills relevant to the practice of forensic psychiatry. It includes principles of risk assessment, expert testimony, writing forensic court reports and ethical conduct. This course provides the specific training for forensic psychiatrists to graduate as skilled professionals and leaders in the field. This course is the only dedicated forensic psychiatry qualification offered in Australia. It satisfies the academic requirements set out by the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) for admission to the RANZCP.
Graduate Certificate in Forensic Mental Health Nursing

The Graduate Certificate in Forensic Mental Health Nursing and the Graduate Diploma of Forensic Mental Health Nursing form part of the broad suite of courses in forensic psychology and forensic mental health at Swinburne University of Technology. In particular, the units in the certificate form part of the subjects that lead to the Master of Forensic Behavioural Science. The subjects will also be of interest to some students pursuing postgraduate training in psychology. The course provides a comprehensive introduction to the principles and practice of nursing in forensic mental health, including key legal principles and legislation and core clinical skills (such as violence risk assessment and management), enabling graduates to work effectively in forensic contexts or with forensic patients. This course is offered through the Centre for Forensic Behavioural Science at Swinburne, in collaboration with the Victorian Institute of Forensic Mental Health (Forensicare).

This course is offered through the Centre for Forensic Behavioural Science at Swinburne, in collaboration with the Victorian Institute of Forensic Mental Health (Forensicare). Note: This course is available to local students and off-shore international students who are studying in a country other than Australia; this course is not available to on-shore international students on a student visa.
