The Bachelor of Environmental Science / Bachelor of Business (Management) double degree program is designed to provide you with a thorough knowledge of both environmental science and management principles and practices. The impetus for this program has come from employers wanting environmental science graduates with a sound knowledge of the business management principles needed to implement environmental policy.As a contemporary environmental scientist, you will understand the scientific, social and heritage aspects of environmetal problems. You will have a broad understanding of the biogeochemical processes operating in the Earth systems and have sufficient scientific and technical specialisation to be able to effectively identify, investigate and solve environmental problems. You will work in multidisciplinary teams and communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders. You will act responsibly, ethically, safely and legally in your professional life and maintain your qualifications through independent life-long learning.In the Bachelor of Environmental Science degree program at RMIT you will study a broad and coherent body of knowledge related to the Earth's systems, especially the hydrosphere, ecosphere, atmosphere and lithosphere, and the impacts of humans on our environment. Graduates gain extensive fieldwork experience and demonstrate your work readiness by completing two final year, capstone, work integrated learning courses (ENVI1145 Environmental Sampling and Analysis and ONPS2186 Science Project) that require work in multidisciplinary teams and effective communication with a range of stakeholders.You will complete a minor in either Environmental Biology or Environmental Chemistry and have specialisations in or developed breadth across the other available minors, including Geosciences (Environmental Engineering) and Geospatial Science.As a result, you are well prepared for the types of positions available in the workplace, such as in environmental consultancies, government agencies, resource management, research, education and in mining / manufacturing industries.The Bachelor of Business (Management) program provides you with critical and broad ranging studies to enable you to enter graduate positions in administration and management. The program provides you with opportunities to develop the required knowledge and outcomes to operate successfully in contemporary environments. You will be able to apply the knowledge and skills gained in the core areas of management in a diverse range of political, social, environmental and economic contexts.This program will actively explore and apply management theory through problem-based and work-relevant activities which may include face-to-face, online, self-directed, collaborative and individual learning experience and is delivered on-campus.In the final year of the program, the capstone experience course BUSM4546 Management in Practice provides the culmination of the knowledge, skills and applied work practice experiences that prepare you to transit into business world.On successful completion of the program, you will be able to work within a wide range of organisations and industries in varied roles, and career entry positions, such as business administration, management consulting and strategy analysis. The program will provide you with a basis for further development of your knowledge and skills in management, and for further study in business and management.This program is taught face to face in RMIT's Melbourne city campus.

Bachelor of Applied Science (Psychology)

The Bachelor of Applied Science (Psychology) is designed to provide you with a wide range of knowledge and skills in human behaviour. Core courses are designed to introduce you to the broad areas of human behaviour, then to focus in-depth in fundamental areas (cognition, development, biological and social psychology). You will finally learn to apply the basic theory of human behaviour to areas such as assessment, psychopathology, psychotherapy and community/society. Specialist professional options allow you to explore the work of psychology in forensics, across cultures, gender, organizations and health. The program provides you with knowledge and skills to continue on in professional areas (Honours followed by post graduate coursework; research degrees in psychology; or other education/health related areas) or to graduate and gain employment in a wide range of diverse settings.Although both Bundoora and City Campus offerings are listed within the structure, only year one is to be completed on the Bundoora Campus. The remaining years two and three must be completed on the City Campus. This program requires in-person attendance with some courses available on-line.In your final year of study you will undertake either a research project (BESC1466 Research Project) or a field placement (BESC1492 Psychology Field Placement). These capstone courses are the culmination of your program and require that you integrate and apply knowledge and skills from previous years of your program.

Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Radiations)

Medical Radiations – Medical Imaging is the field of clinical practice, education and research that deals with the use of ionising and non ionising radiation for the purpose of investigation, diagnosis and treatment of illness. As a radiographer you will be a health care professional who assists in the diagnosis and management of patients via the acquisition of medical images. These images are obtained using x-rays, computed tomography, fluoroscopy and digital subtraction angiography. Magnetic resonance imaging and ultrasound may also be used. As a radiographer you will combine knowledge of the physical and biomedical sciences with technical expertise and patient care to acquire medical images in many imaging modalities.Upon completion of the RMIT Medical Radiations – Medical Imaging program, you will be eligible to attain provisional registration as a Medical Radiation Practitioner. Following a year of mediate practice in your intern year, you will be eligible for full registration as a Medical Radiation Practitioner, giving you an opportunity to work as a professional radiographer in Australia and abroad. The RMIT Medical Radiations program focuses on developing your knowledge and skills relevant to the professional discipline area of Medical Imaging with an emphasis on developing your knowledge in anatomy, pathology, physiology, physics, technology, patient care and clinical research. You will gain knowledge and skills from a range of learning activities and will be the guided in the application and refinement of your clinical skills through supervised laboratory sessions and through the Work Integrated Learning (WIL) program, which you will undertake in range of medical imaging clinical departments across Australia.During the final year of the program you will undertake the following capstone experiences which will integrate your clinical and academic skills: RADI1178 Medical Imaging 3 and RADI1177 Medical Imaging 4.Note that this program requires you to attend classes on campus and participate in placement activities.

Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Laboratory Medicine)

Assessment may include examinations, essays, reports, oral presentations, group projects, research projects, laboratory projects and practical assignments.This program promotes the application of the curriculum in logistics and supply chain scenarios leading to work readiness or entry to graduate studies.
