Our graduate education course gives you an overview of the latest high-level education theory. You’ll learn contemporary ideas and techniques in: approaches to learning educational leadership for social justice innovation in education vocational education and training: policy and practice. Using this knowledge, you’ll conduct your own workplace research. This experience is valuable if you’re ready to take your teaching career into a research or management role. Our graduate program is offered in three stages. Successful completion of this graduate certificate gains you admission to the Graduate Diploma of Education, which leads into the Master of Education. This course does not provide registration to teach in Australia.

This course is designed to meet the needs of trainers and teachers in education, community, government and industry. It builds on your qualifications or experience – preparing you for higher roles. The course provides a perfect mix of hands-on practice and education theory. You’ll gain the confidence and skill set needed to lead school or workplace programs. We teach up-to-date methods in many areas, including: designing and implementing learning programs educational leadership e-learning evaluation and assessment vocational training. There’s also the opportunity to conduct workplace research, aimed at improving training or influencing policy and practice. This diploma is the second of three graduate courses and successful completion gains you admission to the Master of Education. This course does not provide registration to teach in Australia.

Our graduate diploma allows graduates of degree programs to become early-childhood teachers. You'll engage with units focused on children from birth to five years, learning how teaching practice can include children and families as capable participants in education. If you're a domestic student (external link) or you won’t be studying at VU on a student visa, you can study this course online. You'll also gain hands-on work experience in a range of settings, graduating with expertise in early-childhood learning built on a strong sense of social justice. Gain insight into the early years by studying these fascinating areas: child development teaching practice that includes Aboriginal perspectives education and curriculum studies focused on childhood and relationships family and community contexts advocacy and activism in early-childhood settings history and philosophy of early childhood ethical early-childhood professional practice.

This program has been designed for students who didn’t meet the entry requirements for the Bachelor of Education through the VTAC (or direct) selection process. We help you build the literacy and numeracy skills needed for a career in education, over a longer 16-week semester.   Successful completion earns you a place in the second year of the Bachelor of Education (P-12), where you’ll learn to teach all age groups – from prep to Year 12. For the degree program, you’ll choose a specialist teaching area in: art, music, digital media or media studies outdoor or physical education (secondary) psychology, student welfare disability studies in education health or food technology English literacy studies environmental science mathematics humanities biology.

You will study music analysis, music craft, performance technique and technology. This qualification is offered with the specialist streams of performance and composition. It is the ideal way to prepare for entry into the music industry or into further study. You will have access to: well-equipped rehearsal and performance facilities at Kindred Studios 21-machine computer music lab multimedia software for production, arranging and composition.
