Diploma of Flying (Private Pilot License)

This program is available only as an exit award from the Associate Degree in Aviation (Professional Pilot), for students who choose to exit that program after completing the first year.This program is designed to provide you with knowledge and skills that will enhance your value in the Aviation Industry environment and will also prepare you to undertake the CASA Private Pilot Licence Theory & Flight tests.The Diploma of Flying (Private Pilot Licence) provides a tertiary award in conjunction with a structured aviation training program. This program meets the requirements of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority through the provision of theory and practical training up to PPL. The program contains relevant and appropriate courses encompassing cognitive, technical and communication skills.The program design and associated capability development has been endorsed by a range of Aviation industry experts, consisting of senior aviation experts and operations personnel from Australia's airports and aerospace organisations.

Diploma of Health Science (Pharmaceutical Sciences)

The Diploma of Health Science (Pharmaceutical Sciences) is designed to equip students at the GZUCM-RMIT Institute of Life Sciences and Bioengineering with knowledge and skills in relevant disciplines, together with enhanced academic English language proficiency relevant to those disciplines, thus enabling them to articulate seamlessly into Year 2 of the Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Sciences program (which will also be offered at GZUCM-RMIT). This diploma is offered only as a pathway into the degree program.The Diploma program is delivered in full time mode. It consists of eight courses (96 credit points). The program structure is the same or equivalent to that offered in the first year of the Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Sciences program. Where there is equivalence, you can seek credit transfer for courses successfully completed as you articulate from the Diploma into Year 2 of the degree program.The following courses will provide the scientific foundation for your future studies and career as a pharmaceutical scientist: Biology of the Cell; Introduction to Human Biosciences; Introduction to Microbiology, Immunology and Genetics; Statistics and Epidemiology; and Chemistry for Life Sciences. The courses Introduction to Pharmaceutical Science, Introduction to Medical Biochemistry and Medicine, Drugs and Poisons include components specific to the discipline of pharmaceutical science.Concurrent studies in English and academic learning skills are embedded into the eight Diploma courses (96 credit points) across the extended semester.This program requires on campus attendance.

This program, DP008 Diploma of Design (Digital Media), offers you a diploma incorporating introductory courses in the design and production of digital media. The diploma integrates professional skills with theoretical concepts and develops your technical and creative skills to design and produce digital media outputs and communicate ideas.You will experience a variety of learning strategies that will support you in this program, including interactive seminars, lectures, tutorials, workshops and group-based activities. You will use industry-standard software, tools and production processes, to develop and produce basic digital media projects.On successful completion of the program you will have broad knowledge of the digital media industries. This program is equivalent to the first year of undergraduate business degrees and will facilitate articulation into the second year of undergraduate programs offered by the College of Business.This program provides opportunities to solve real business problems through structured activities such as workshops and projects. You will develop your knowledge and skills by attending lectures and tutorials, keeping reflective journals, taking in-class tests, writing reports and participating in class discussions.The Diploma of Commerce provides you with various opportunities to develop skills for direct work outcomes as well as facilitate transition to further education through embedded business communication and academic learning skills. Advanced Diploma of Textile Design and Development

This program provides you with an opportunity to gain a broad base of knowledge and skills leading to a career within the textile design industry. You will explore and generate design concepts through practical instruction and creative problem solving exercises offered throughout the program . There is a strong focus on skill development which will assist you in gaining an understanding of textile practices to execute a range of screen printed, machine knitted or woven fabrics for a variety of applications and technical specifications.In this studio based program, you will have access to state of the art facilities to undertake projects briefs including colour, drawing, design, computer skills to plan, develop and produce textile samples. Sustainable practice is undertaken as an integral part of the program.Graduates of this program can be self-employed as a textile designer or work as part of a design team for small and/or large companies developing collections for fashion, interiors or home wares. Previous graduates have gone on to be textile designers or designer makers capable of efficiently operating a studio and producing their own design concepts or those of their client. Other areas of employment might include: textile artist; textile styling; screen printer; surface designer; crafter; textile buyer or colourist. Textile designers may also work in associated industry functions, for example, graphics, wrapping and wallpaper, packaging, greetings cards and ceramics.
