Animation and Game Design major allows students to specialise in creating engaging digital experiences through the use of animation and games. The programme will provide students the opportunity to learn the fundamentals, theory and industry-practice to designing engaging experiences for animation and games. Unique to this major students are exposed to both the animation and game design pipeline. This entails learning a range of capabilities such as 2D animation, 3D animation and modelling, digital visual effects, game design and development and designing for immersive environments to create an engaging digital experience. Career Opportunities You may pursue a rewarding career in the Animation and Game Design industry which may include working as a 2D/3D Animator, Game Designer, 3D Artist, Visual Effects Artist, Motion Graphics Designer, Art Director, Educator. This major is ideally suited towards students who are aspiring to work in the account management area of advertising. This major is also ideal for those who are seeking a flexible course with the ability to pursue a minor in another discipline. Major Overview Note Students choosing this major within the Bachelor of Arts degree will also choose another major or an elective stream. Choosing a second major allows students to study in an additional discipline area. Choosing an elective stream allows students to undertake further study in the discipline of their first major or choose from a variety of units from around the University.

The BSc (Actuarial and Applied Statistics) degree is for students who decide part way through their BSc (Actuarial Science) degree that they will probably not continue their studies to becoming an Actuary and wish to broaden their degree to include more statistical units. The course does NOT cover all six (6) subjects required for completion of the Foundations Program of the Actuaries Institute examinations. Accreditation This course is accredited by the Actuaries Institute of Australia (and will remain so whilst the Institute reviews its accreditation policy) Professional Recognition Some units within this course may provide students with the opportunity to meet some of the requirements of professional recognition with the Actuaries Institute. Accreditation Status The Actuaries Institute is currently reviewing its reaccreditation policy and will advise universities in due course. All universities which are currently accredited will remain so until further notice to the contrary.
