Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning

UniSA Online’s Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning is approved by the Financial Adviser Standards and Ethics Authority (FASEA) and will equip you with the essential educational requirements to practice as a financial planner under new Australian regulations. We’ve worked closely with industry to develop our course content, and regularly consult with FASEA to ensure your Graduate Diploma meets the most up-to-date education requirements. Our Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning is best suited to: existing financial advisers with a non-relevant degree; or existing financial advisers with no degree; or new adviser with a relevant degree. All course content and assessments are delivered 100% online, which means you’ll have the flexibility to continue to work while you study. If you have a relevant degree, you may also be eligible to apply for credit, which means you could potentially finish your degree sooner, saving you both time and money. Definitions: Existing adviser: Any person who was ‘current’ on the ASIC’s Financial Advisers Register, or who provided personal advice in a foreign country to retail clients in relation to relevant financial products at any time between 1 January 2016 and 1 January 2019, and was not prohibited from providing advice on 1 January 2019. New adviser: Any person who does not meet the above definition of an existing adviser. Relevant degree: 8 subjects at AQF 7,8 or 9 that contain at least 8 courses in one or more of the designated fields of study in any combination – financial planning, accounting, taxation law (as defined by the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB)), finance law, finance, business law (as defined by the TPB), investment, estate law, banking, and economics.

Graduate Certificate in Financial Planning

This qualification can serve as a bridging program for existing financial advisers who already hold an approved or relevant qualification and are only required to study a selection of remaining courses to meet education requirements. Our program embeds core bridging courses that have been specifically outlined in FASEA’s education standards. These include ethics and professionalism, financial advice regulatory and legal obligations, and behavioural finance: client and consumer behaviour. Depending on your requirements, you may need to undertake one, or all, of these courses. While FASEA have not approved graduate certificates from any education provider, the Standards Authority will formally recognise students who have successfully completed accredited courses within UniSA Online’s Graduate Certificate in Financial Planning. It’s an ideal study option if you’re looking to top up your education in a few select areas, without having to put life on hold or take time off work. Definitions: New entrant: A financial adviser listed on the Financial Adviser Register after 31 December 2018. Existing adviser: Any person who provided financial advice between 1 January 2016 and 1 January 2019. Master of Teaching (Early Childhood)

This industry-relevant postgraduate qualification is for students who have already completed a three-year bachelor degree and would like to increase their employment prospects with an early childhood qualification. The curriculum is practical in nature and is solely focused on the education of children from birth to eight years of age. Practical learning is a major component and you will complete four supervised placements in childcare, preschool/kindergarten and junior primary schools, totalling 80 days. The Early Childhood specialisation is taught at the Magill campus only. Advanced Standing You may be eligible for Advanced Standing and complete the requirements of this qualification in one year. If you are uncertain about your eligibility for Advanced Standing, please include more than one SATAC code in your list of application preferences. 2 years- SATAC CODE 4CM111 1 year- SATAC CODE 4CM188 What you'll need DCSI clearance Students will be required to undertake a criminal history screening through the Department of Communities and Social Inclusion (DCSI). The clearance will be valid for three years. The criminal history screening must be completed prior to being accepted for a placement and can take up to six to eight weeks to be processed. Strict confidentiality is maintained during the DCSI clearance process. If a student fails to obtain clearance for any reason, the University cannot accept responsibility for obtaining a professional experience placement or any other professional experience activity, which is a compulsory part of the degree and therefore the student cannot graduate with an education degree from the University. Mandatory child-safe environments training All education students who are completing any in-school or site (i.e. preschools and childcare settings) observations, activities or professional experience placements must undertake mandatory training in Responding to Abuse and Neglect prior to the commencement of the activities or placements. In South Australia, child protection legislation and policy require all organisations to establish and promote child safe environments. Mandatory reporting of child abuse and neglect training is required of all individuals working with children and young people. All undertaking professional experience placements in South Australian government and non-government schools and preschools must provide documented evidence (i.e. a certificate) that shows they have completed all the required training from one of the providers mentioned on the following website. First aid training Students must complete and provide evidence of completion of Basic Emergency Life Support (DECD) or Applied First Aid before commencing this degree. Literacy and Numeracy Test All students must meet the required standard in the national Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education (LANTITE) prior to graduation. Students will undertake the national literacy and numeracy tests during the first year of the degree. Students will be required to meet the standard of each test as a prerequisite for their final Professional Experience Placement course. The University will provide a range of supports for students who do not achieve the required standard in either the literacy or numeracy or both tests. Students will be allowed three attempts at each test. Any student who fails to meet the standard on three occasions in either the literacy or numeracy test will usually be counselled to transfer to an alternative degree. Master of Education

Graduate Diploma in Aviation

The Graduate Diploma in Aviation is a highly disciplined, technical flight training program at Parafield Airport. It is delivered by the professional flight instructors at Flight Training Adelaide, our industry partner. This qualification equips students with the skills, knowledge and competence to sit the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) exams for a Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) and Command Instrument Rating (CIR). These are professional qualifications recognised by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) and the International Civil Aviation Organisation. The Graduate Diploma in Aviation is taught mainly at Parafield Airport. It is studied alongside the Bachelor of Aviation (Pilot). Graduate Certificate in Education (Catholic Education)
