The program has been designed to benefit Dental Assistants who have successfully completed their Certificate III in Dental Assisting and this Certificate IV qualification from the National Training Package will provide you with the underpinning knowledge and practical skills required to safely, and effectively, perform the entry level roles and responsibilities of a Dental Assistant in the areas of Dental Radiography,The program combines both campus based training and training in the workplace. Your RMIT University teaching staff will liaise closely with your workplace supervisors to facilitate the training tto meet your individual learning needs.The program is delivered through a blended learning approach of;face to face classroom theory based subjects face to face practical sessions on the job training online learning activitiesPlease note:This program cannot be undertaken unless you are employed as dental assistant with appropriate employment in either a public or private dental practise.

This design qualification equips you with the potential to move on to higher levels of study. It is also a basic entry point to a design-based vocation by providing design knowledge and skills in visual communication and 3D design. These educational pathways may lead towards the following programs: Communication design, graphic design, graphic arts, multimedia, product design and visual merchandising, interior design and decoration, advertising. The program focuses on the investigation and development of design projects in a studio environment.

Certificate IV in Optical Dispensing

This qualification covers the skills and knowledge required by optical dispensers, to dispense and supply optical appliances as prescribed by optometrists and/or ophthalmologists in accordance with Australian Standards.The units of competency included in this qualification contribute to the gaining of an optical dispenser’s licence where this is required. Optical dispensers practice in a range of environments including optical dispensaries, optometric practices and laboratories.
