Certificate IV in EAL (Further Study)

The Certificate IV in EAL (Further Study) is part of an academic preparation program at RMIT University. It is for people from non-English speaking backgrounds who wish to improve their speaking, listening, reading, writing and study skills. The program aims to provide you with the cultural understanding, advanced English language, and tertiary study skills to participate in further study contexts.

Certificate IV in Plumbing and Services

As a registered tradesperson, this Certificate IV qualification allows you to specialise in a number of streams and prepares you to successfully attain your license through the VBA.There are 3 options offered by RMIT:1. You can specialise in the Operations Stream which covers gas-fitting, water, sanitary, roofing and drainage. These areas of study are usually the ones recommended for a Plumber. Or,2. You can specialise in the Fire Services Stream which covers mainly the competencies required in the Fire Protection Industry. Or,3. You can specialise in the Air Conditioning and Mechanical Services Stream which covers the relevant units for specialisation in this area.(NOTE: The Certificate IV in Plumbing and Services is designed for you to specialise in one stream, or if you wish, all 3 streams. However, if specialising in more than one stream, you need to select additional competencies, and you will incur additional cost. Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building)

This program is based on adult learning principles and has been customised to meet the requirements of existing workers in the construction Industry to improve their skills to:manage substantial building portfolios manage multiple (and sometimes contrary) contractors respond to customer service requirements.The program also addresses the requirements of the units of competency, which underpin the nationally recognised qualification.

Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing and Disability)

Welcome to the CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support program. This program has been developed by the Future Social Services Institute (FSSI), in consultation with industry, experts by experience and alumni.FSSI was formed in 2016 through a strategic collaboration between Victorian Council of Social Service (VCOSS) and RMIT University, backed by funding from the Victorian Government through the Department of Health and Human Services. The Institute's vision is "A Victorian community supported by thriving Social Services".The program was developed with State Government funding.The goal of the program is to prepare learners for a broad range of potentioal careers and pathways within social services including aged care, family support with the aim of building the NDIS workforce specifically and the sector more generally. The program provides students with the opportunity to develop skills across both the aged care and disability services sectors whilst at the same time completing Certificate III in Individual Support.The Certificate III in Individual Support qualification reflects the role of workers in the community and/or residential setting who follow an individualised plan to provide person-centred support to people who may require support due to ageing, disability or some other reason. The program also qualifies graduates for home and community care work in clients' homes. Upon completion, you will be able to demonstrate discretion and judgement in relation to individual support as well as taking responsibility for own outputs. You will have a range of factual, technical and procedural knowledge, as well as some theoretical knowledge of the concepts and practices required to provide person-centred support.You will be required to complete:A minimum of 120 hours of work placement across the duration of the program where you will be supported by RMIT teachers. Aged Care and disability services placements will be found and booked by RMIT with their industry partners.Employment outcomes for students who have successfully completed the program include:personal care assistant community care worker personal care assistant in-home respite support worker planned activity assistant disability support worker home and community care worker

The Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) reflects the role of a worker in a residential setting who, following an individualised plan, provides person-centred support to people who may require assistance due to ageing.Upon successful completion of this qualification, you will be able to demonstrate discretion and judgement in relation to individual support as well as the ability to take responsibility for your own output. You will have demonstrated a range of factual, technical and procedural knowledge as well as theoretical knowledge underpinning the practice of providing person-centred support. You will be required to undertake two days per week of work placement across the duration of the program and you will be supported in this placement by RMIT teachers.Employment outcomes for students who have successfully completed the program include:personal care assistant planned activity assistant

The Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Home and Community) reflects the role of a worker in either a residential setting or in the home and community care setting who, following an individualised plan, provides person-centred support to people who may require assistance due to ageing.Upon successful completion of this qualification, you will be able to demonstrate discretion and judgement in relation to individual support as well as the ability to take responsibility for your own output. You will have demonstrated a range of factual, technical and procedural knowledge as well as theoretical knowledge underpinning the practice of providing person-centred support.You will have completed 170 hours of placement across the duration of the program in a residential aged care facility.Employment outcomes for students who have successfully completed the program include:personal care assistant planned activity assistant home care assistant community care worker

Certificate III in Conservation and Land Management

RMIT’s Conservation and Land Management program provides you with the skills and knowledge needed to work in the field managing natural resources. You will spend a large part of your time outdoors learning hands on skills from industry professionals and carrying out project based work. This will take place mainly in rural locations and will bring you into contact with other professionals from a range of Government and community organisations.
