It provides significant opportunities for you to choose from an extensive range of engineering majors and pathways, whilst still providing robust vocational outcomes.This Associate Degree has six majors and you will be able to select your major at the end of the first year. The six majors are:Mechanical Aerospace Advanced Manufacturing and Mechatronics Electrical and Electronics Computer and Network Civil EngineeringAdditionally, the program provides a pathway into engineering and related professions that have been experiencing persistent skills shortages for many years.Mechanical / Advanced Manufacturing and Mechatronics This major will enables you to move into a wide range of paraprofessional level position as a mechanical design associate, product design and process, production planner, quality engineer or automation specialist including application to modern manufacturing and business, Internet of Systems, additive manufacturing, automation and robotics.Electrical and Electronics / Computer and NetworkThis major enables you to pursue a career in the areas of Electrical/Electronics design, electronic communications, digital and analogue interfacing, microprocessor programming, automation and process control including application of Internet of Things and cloud environment, Internet of Systems, automation and robotics as a technical officer, Engineering Associate or Electronic Service Engineer. Computer and Network major allows you to pursue a career in the areas of networking, internetworking,IP telephony, network design and network security as a technical officer, network engineer or network support officer.CivilThis major enables you to move into a wide range of paraprofessional positions in the civil and structural engineering fields including roles such as laboratory technician, research assistant, construction supervisor. Nationally, demand is evident for quantity surveyors, structural engineers, and civil engineering draftspersons and technicians. Multiple related engineering professions are also identified as being in shortage at a state level including urban and regional planners, civil engineers, quantity surveyors, structural engineers, and civil engineering draftspersons and technicians.AerospaceThe aerospace discipline consists of aerodynamics, aircraft systems, and integration, design, dynamics and control, mathematics, structural analysis, thermodynamics. Graduates can look for jobs in Aerospace industry as aircraft maintenance engineer or aerospace design engineer at the paraprofessional level. Your most likely destinations will be design and manufacturing companies including Boeing Australia, EADS (Airbus), Hawker de Havilland and so forth.The program is delivered face-to-face and includes web-based learning components. It requires on campus attendance in either full time or part-time mode.

The Associate Degree in Aviation (Professional Pilots) provides a tertiary award in conjunction with a structured aviation training program. This program meets the requirements of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) through the provision of theory and practical training. The program contains relevant and appropriate courses encompassing cognitive, technical and communication skills. The program design and associated capability development has been endorsed by a range of Aviation industry experts, consisting of senior pilots and operations personnel from Australia's major airlines and aerospace organisations. As a successful graduate of this program you will have completed a qualification aligned to CASA and industry pilot opportunities.This program is designed to provide you with knowledge and skills that will enhance your value in the Aviation Industry environment and will also prepare you to undertake the CASA Recreational, Private and Commercial Pilot Licence Theory and Flight courses.
