A broad-based curriculum incorporates: IT strategy and governance, Financial Technology, creativity, innovation and design and digital business transformation. In addition to the core program courses you can take a range of minors and electives from across the College of Business, and from the University more widely. You can also learn a language and engage in study abroad.Over the duration of this program you will participate in a variety of learning experiences which are designed to support you in developing skills as a digital business graduate. Learning and teaching approaches for this program may include lectures and tutorials, problem-based learning, case studies, work-integrated learning, assignments, projects and examinations. Activities and assignments are designed to facilitate theory application and peer learning in a friendly, open atmosphere and will incorporate contemporary content and resources and evidencing skills through a range of embedded micro-credentials as well as access to a wider marketplace of micro-credentials allowing you to curate and personalise your learning.The final year of the program includes the capstone course BUSM4729 Digital Business Transformation which will provide you the opportunity to critically reflect on and consolidate your theoretical and practical learning.The program will prepare you to work as a professional in a wide range of industries, government and non- government organisations.This program is available for on-campus study.

Bachelor of Youth Work and Youth Studies

The Bachelor of Youth Work and Youth Studies develops rich interdisciplinary theoretical understandings to inform professional practice across the Youth Sector and Policy contexts. Across the years of your study, you will engage in four main streams of learning.“Becoming a Human Services Professional” prepares you to work in client facing industries through deepening understandings of your shifting identity from individual to ethical carer, counsellor, advocate and champion of others in sometimes challenging landscapes. “Youth Work” situates you in the professional and practice field, offering you opportunities to understand and work across the sector, as you develop your area of passion and interest for your future employment. “Youth Studies” enables you to develop a critical and interdisciplinary insight to the research and representations of young people, that influences perceptions of communities and decisions and shaping of policy. “Breadth and context studies” provides you with opportunities to specialise in an area of your choice, through disciplinary clustered courses (eg Criminal Justice, International Development, Languages), or to explore electives drawn from across the University.In the Bachelor of Youth Work and Youth Studies you will have varied learning experiences. During your studies, you will engage in experiences across sites, whether online, at one of our campuses or in an industry or policy setting. Some of your courses may be run as intensives and include specialised skill sets, building your expertise in particular areas for your future employment. Through a critical and socio-political perspective, you will engage in inquiries focussed on powerful concepts and issues in relation to the representations of youth. Some of these big ideas consider youth in relation to space, digital worlds, culture, religion, families, the law and the global context more broadly. Through problematised learning approaches you will explore issues that affect young people such as homelessness, radicalisation, poverty and mental health. You will be able to also extend or deepen your knowledge and skills by choosing a minor in a field you are interested in or wish to target for employment.Throughout your studies in the Bachelor of Youth Work and Youth Studies, you will curate evidence of your learning ready, poised upon graduation to demonstrate your potential contribution to the field, profession, workplace or further study. In your final year, you will undertake two parallel capstone experiences. The first specifically supports you to articulate to industry how you are ready for life and work, drawing upon the representations of your learning, research and critical reflections of what it means to engage in Youth Work. The second capstone experience is an independent research inquiry into a wicked problem and its implications for youth futures. Across these two capstones, you will demonstrate the praxis or interconnectedness of your rich theoretical knowledge against your command of skills and professional applications that matter most for the stakeholders for and with whom you will work.As a graduate of the Bachelor of Youth Work and Youth Studies, you will have many options of which path to next take.You may want to work straight in the area of the industry you have been most curious throughout your study and selected as a minor or choose other options. Our graduates work across all spectrums of the Youth Work profession, ranging from Drug and Alcohol Programs, Youth Justice environments, Policy contexts to Local Government settings. Our graduates also embark on journeys in Policy and Research contexts. Increasingly, our graduates are continuing on to further study, either through Honours Programs in their area of Youth Studies interest or to Masters Programs which open other options, such as Social Work, International Development, Psychology, Public Policy and Justice and Criminology

Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Radiations)

Medical Radiations – Medical Imaging is the field of clinical practice, education and research that deals with the use of ionising and non-ionising radiation for the purpose of investigation, diagnosis and treatment of illness. As a radiographer you will be a health care professional who assists in the diagnosis and management of patients via the acquisition of medical images. These images are obtained using x-rays, computed tomography, fluoroscopy and digital subtraction angiography. Magnetic resonance imaging and ultrasound may also be used. As a radiographer you will combine knowledge of the physical and biomedical sciences with technical expertise and patient care to acquire medical images in many imaging modalities.On completion of the Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Radiations) program you will be eligible to attain registration as a Medical Radiation Practitioner. The program is focused on developing your knowledge and skills relevant to the professional discipline area of Medical Imaging with an emphasis on developing your knowledge in anatomy, pathology, physiology, physics, technology, patient care and clinical research. You will gain knowledge and skills from a range of learning activities and be guided in the application and refinement of your clinical skills supervised laboratory sessions and the Work Integrated Learning (WIL) program which you will undertake in range of medical imaging clinical departments across Australia.During the final year of the program you will undertake the following capstone experience which will integrate your clinical and academic skills: RADI1214 Transitioning to Medical Imaging Clinical Practice.Note that this program requires you to attend classes on campus and participate in placement activities.

Bachelor of Education

The BP320PEC Bachelor of Education (Primary and Early Childhood Education) offers you a Birth-12 qualification allowing you to work in a diverse range of primary and early childhood contexts both locally and internationally. These include primary schools, early learning centres in schools, kindergartens, childcare centres, industry and government sectors. It prepares you for the dynamic and challenging world of education. It provides you with globally transferable skills and a qualification that can lead you to practising as a teacher in Australia and overseas. You will experience a variety of contemporary, interactive learning and teaching approaches, including both face-to-face and online delivery modes. You will have the opportunity to participate in a range of innovative Professional Experience practices within a variety of educational settings that integrate theory and practice. This program is primarily delivered in face-to-face mode at the Bundoora Campus.You will undertake a series of work integrated learning experiences in schools, early childhood and other educational settings throughout the program. During these experiences you will progressively demonstrate achievement of each descriptor of the AITSL Standards for Graduating Teachers. You will also undertake a capstone experience in the final year that comprises your final teaching placement and an independent action research project into an aspect of your teaching practice. During your final teaching placement you will demonstrate effective classroom teaching practice including planning, teaching, assessing and reflecting. You will conduct an action research project into an aspect of your teaching practice during your final teaching placement and report on the impact the development of your practice has on student learning.Successful compeltion of your final teaching performance assessment and a record of succesful performance against all AITSL Graduate Teacher Standards are requirements for graduation.On completion of the program you will be a professional practitioner within the field of education possessing a broad knowledge of learning, teaching, curriculum and assessment with expertise in either English/Literacy, Mathematics/Numeracy. You will be eligible to apply for teacher registration and to teach in schools and early childhood settings, however you will have knowledge, skills and experience to also work in private enterprise, government agencies and community based organisations. You will use innovative applications of communication technology to support your teaching practice. Through critical reflection you will work ethically and collaboratively with colleagues and external professional and community representatives.

Additionally, you will be encouraged to undertake RMIT University Vietnam’s Personal Edge Workshops which are focused on developing social skills required for the industry.The range of careers for graduates of this program is varied and opportunities are available in not-for-profit, government and commercial industries. The program is global in outlook, application and content, and provides you with the scope to work in a variety of digital marketing areas such as search marketing strategists, marketing communications, brand management, e-commerce, digital analyst, social media manager and web analyst.

Bachelor of Design Studies

The Bachelor of Design Studies is a broad-based program that emphasises the development of design thinking and practices, enabling you to take a design-based approach to problem-solving and innovation in a range of social, ethical, professional and cultural contexts. It is delivered primarily on campus, in a face-to-face, classroom and studio learning environment, and includes an industry internship placement.In this program, you will build a well-rounded design capability based on development of sound theoretical and contextual knowledge, practical project work, technical skills acquisition, and work-integrated learning in more than one design discipline.Up to two design disciplines can be selected from a set of options that include visual, physical, virtual, service-based and/or mediated design disciplines.Year one - design discovery - ensures you are equipped with the broad theoretical, contextual, creative and technical capabilities needed to support progress in a specific design discipline. Year two - design discipline - offers a flexible choice of specialisation in up to two areas of design. The courses in year 2 include University electives, studio-based project work, skills workshops and theory seminars. Year three - integrated design - theoretical, contextual, creative, technical and professional aspects of the program are integrated and applied in one of three strands of investigation – i.e. social, environmental or sustainability issues (preferably in Vietnam), delivered as two 24-credit integrated capstone studio courses and an internship placement.The capstone courses integrate theoretical, skills-based and project-based experience in applied project work in a studio setting. The two capstone courses, as well as the internship, are structured to give you the opportunity to apply your design capability in real-world and work-oriented situations.

Specifically, this program reorients students from a practice based focus to an administrative or policy-based focussed professional degree.This program will develop the theoretical knowledge and skills you require to work in a wide range of professional settings, including government and not-for-profit organisations, both in Australia and internationally. This program is especially oriented to administration and policy advice roles in areas of social care and support.You will build the foundation for understanding and analysing the relationships between the global and local dimensions of social care and policy implications for a diverse and changing world. You will engage critically with legislative and policy frameworks across different policy and legislative contexts. You will learn to advocate, consult and collaborate within different cultural settings and develop skills for bringing about legislative and/or policy reform.The program is offered on campus in face to face mode of delivery. At various points in your programs you will have the opportunity to engage in independent projects and inquiries in your specific area of interest. The program also provides opportunities for you to undertake study tours and/or exchange programs outside of your base location at RMIT Melbourne.As a graduate you can expect to work within Australia in local, state or federal government agencies and social care services in a variety of human services roles, local council roles or policy and advice roles. Employment can be found in similar sectors in other countries or in international aid and development organisations.

The program will also prepare you to work as a professional financial planner in diverse organisations and has been accredited by FPA Australia.
